Derek Carr Wants To Play On Sunday And There’s A Chance It Might Happen

Officially, Derek Carr is listed as ‘questionable’ on the Raiders injury report for Sunday’s game.

That means the Raiders aren’t ready to say he won’t play. Maybe head coach Jack Del Rio just wants to give the Ravens one more thing to think about, or… could he actually return a week after breaking a bone in his back?

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says there’s a chance that could happen.

“It’s crazy. It’s not that, that crazy,” Rapoport said on Friday of Carr’s chances to play on Sunday. “[It’s been] described to me as a chance to play this week. I know he wants to play very badly.”

A separate report said Carr is still “lobbying” to play on Sunday.

Obviously, if Carr is in the discussion to play on Sunday, there’s going to be real optimism that he can play against the Chargers in another week.

  1. Just a thought, but is it possible that rushing his return can end up with a more serious injury? I mean Carr didn’t show up in week 3 or 4, I am pretty sure we can afford to have him miss a few weeks.
