Marquel Lee Receives Impressive Performance Grade In NFL Debut

He was only on the field for about a third of the defensive snaps, but rookie linebacker Marquel Lee was quietly one of the Raiders better performers on Sunday against the Titans.

According to analysis from Pro Football Focus, Lee actually graded higher (71.8) than fellow Oakland linebackers Cory James (42.6), Tyrell Adams (33.3), Nicholas Morrow (64.6).

Lee also compared favorably to rookie linebackers around the league in week one – with Sunday’s effort good for third-best in the league, according to Pro Football Focus.

The Raiders only put Lee on the field for 21 snaps against the Titans, but if he continues to hold is own in coverage (he gave up 1 reception for 4 yards against the Titans, according to PFF), his workload could increase moving forward.

  1. Del Rio and Pagano saw something in the kid so I have to think he’s at least worth the effort of development . He’s rangy and quick . Just needs the experience to become a dependable piece of the defense .
