NFL Wife Says Raiders Offensive Line Tried To Get Derek Carr Hurt

Brent Grimes is an NFL cornerback. His wife likes attention and apparently goes on radio shows.

This morning Miko Grimes used that platform to attack Derek Carr and made a number of wild accusations about him and the Raiders offensive line.

“Carr was against the offensive line protesting and they had a fight in the locker room before that Monday night game with the Redskins,” Grimes said on The Breakfast Club on Tuesday morning.

“They were fighting in the locker room and that’s the only all-black offensive line in the NFL is the Raiders. Derek is a bible-thumper to the fullest and so he was basically trying to force the players to read the Bible before the game and do all this stuff and they were like, ‘No, that’s you.’ And so he was so upset about it, when the whole offensive line said they were going, he was like, ‘No, you’re not kneeling. this is America, you’re going to stand for the flag’ and they got in a fight in the locker room, so when they came out to play, they basically had a plan.”

Video of the conversation is below…

Grimes isn’t the first to come out with accusations about the Sunday night game in Washington, but the first report was hardly a credible source and Grimes is as unreliable as they come.

Donald Penn responded to Grimes this morning via his twitter account…

Another response from the twitter timeline of ESPN’s Dianna Russini…

And DeAndre Washington…

You can’t make this stuff up… or maybe you can.

What a strange season it’s been in Oakland.

  1. Don’t know if this is true or not, but it’s certainly plausible. Derek is a very conservative bible thumper who, I’m sure, gets on at least some players nerves with his outspokenness about it. And, he certainly wasn’t/isn’t a fan of the protests. Neither, of course, is Jack Del Rio. Whether there was a physical altercation seems a bit more doubtful. But, it’s clear that the offensive line was getting pushed around by Washington’s defensive line, particularly at the beginning of the game, which suggests that the line didn’t exactly come out with any fire and passion to keep their quarterback upright.

I’d say this is story worth pursuing.

  2. I believe what I see. Against the redskins I saw an all black offensive line decide on their own they wanted to protest, I also saw our white quarterback standing with the coaches praying during the anthem and not kneeling with the guys who job was to protect him. Finally, I saw what supposed to be the the best offensive pass protecting line get completely destroyed by Washington while our pro bowl center Hudson hiked the ball 3 times before Carr ever expected it. That’s what I saw so I think that there is some truth to this. I don’t think she has all the details right but there is truth in the story in my opinion. This all happened before the injury but who knows when they put that crap behind them.

  3. If you go back and watch the game you can clearly see there were missed blocks and players that seemed to be 1 step too late. Maybe its the new zone blocking concepts, but for this group is looks strange. I figured that something was up while watching this game. This Oline is just too good to miss some of those assignments. We will never know though.

    1. What crock they got beat because the coaching staff was out coached and was unable to make in game adjustments. Norton and Downing are morons. Put that garbage to bed

  4. Penn and Osemele should be performing at a much higher level. I stopped watching these clowns because of their idiotic protests, has nothing to do with football. They have lost focus, they should just get out of football. Davis, Mckenzie and Del Rio should give us top notch players that are there to play football. These protesting clowns are not leaders or role models for our kids. I and many of my friends have given up on football. These super sensitive cry babies should not be televised. My football memories are on raiders of the past. As for these clowns, they have made my weekends free to do something else.

    1. You stopped watching them but here you are on a website whining ,moaning and spending you time posting about how they choose to use their free speech and how they are not role models for YOUR KIDS! Lol, If you really want to see the clown look in the mirror. Use your new found free time to provide real role model for your kids!

  5. When considering this story remember 1 thing. Well 2 actually. 1 we’re running a zone blocking scheme which doesn’t play to our olines strengths, which leads to them getting pushed around. 2 this is Miko Grimes. The same woman who may have helped her husband get cut because she runs her mouth 2 much. Like the Don said Santino never let anyone outside of this family know what u really think. Maybe Fabulous is more fitting if Brett her husband isn’t on a NFL roster. Don’t burn all your bridges and expect me 2 send a boat.

  6. she may not have all the facts but something happened that night..DC was shook from the start and threw that interception first series..Hudson 3 bad hikes??.. something happened that night and we havent been right since..i dont believe they got him hurt on purpose but i can see this causing tension.. i just remember the look in DCs face during the first series..he was def off and distracted..the whole line was that night

  7. This whole story is fake news. If you know football the Raiders switched from Power blocking to zone. There was no film on Todd Downing offense the first few games because he is a rookie OC. Man this BS is a joke fantasy land stuff.
So Carr is a Republican bible thumper is your clue. I am a bible thumper and I am not a Republican or a Democrat, so there is that.
I also believe it was thier right to protest peacefully rather anyone likes it or not.
People who casually watch football wouldn’t have a clue unless you constantly watch film.
Hudson, Osmele, Jackson, and Penn are power run blockers not Zone.
If any of you remember Gregg Knapp?
We ran a zone blocking scheme then as well and the results we horrible. We had Jackson, Penn, and Howard and Carr’s Olinemen. Our offense stunk then. Watch film instead of being a casual fan you will see the truth
