According to a report out of Las Vegas, the Raiders have reached out to Denver defensive coordinator Wade Phillips about a role within the organization.

The alleged news on Phillips and the Raiders comes from Joe Arrigo, a relative unknown on the national scene, but as Las Vegas media becomes increasingly cozy with the Raiders, it stands to reason Arrigo may have growing connections within the organization.
Speculation began last week that Phillips could be a candidate to fill a role in Oakland, and Jack Del Rio’s statements following the Raiders playoff loss to Houston did little to quiet the chatter.

Defensive coordinator Ken Norton Jr. remains under contract with the Raiders and while the defense showed improvement in the second half of the season, they failed to record a sack in the final three games of the season (counting the playoff game).

I think Coach Phillips would be a great addition to the Raider organization. The team not only needs a talent upgrade at a few key positions ( DT, LB,CB) but also someone who knows how to put the pieces of the puzzle together ( which means putting players in the best position to succeed). As Coach Del Rio said, 2016 is only the beginning. ” Go Raiders”.
I am hoping and praying that Raiders are able to add Wade Phillips as our new DC.
Would love to see Phillips as DC as well. It doesn’t mean we have to fire Norton , just a demotion to linebackers and let him focus on huge area of need.

Though the Raiders do need some more pieces on defense, with the proper assignment of personel, the defense would have finished better than this year with Wade Phillips as DC. There is a reason Ken Norton Jr. had to wait so long to get his first head dc job!

Not sure if switch from Musgrave to Downing as OC is the right choice? If you are going to make a change like that, I think you bring in someone like Norv Turner to make the offense unstoppable with the talent we have!
Not dissing on Downing, but,what record does he have to point to as an OC?

Jelly’s not bad, nor is big D – could use some help but would be much better with proper defensive alignment. I don’t think the corners are used properly either! Need Wade here to evaluate the talent! Any ideas on Musgrave replacement? Raiders are said to not be offering a new contract to him and are said to be turning over reins to QB coach, Todd Downing.
I still think we needs experience OC to help Todd & in the draft I say get a hard nose runner like Mixon from Oklahoma in the draft, wade Phillips would be perfect GO RAIDERS

I know I may get booed but I would like to pickup Greg Hardy in the offseason. He would be cheap and hungry to prove himself.
