Rolando McClain’s personal problems have followed him to Dallas.
Currently facing a 10-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, McClain began the summer by reporting to Cowboys mini-camp 30 pounds overweight in June.
And now, according to Brandon George of the Dallas News, the Cowboys “aren’t optimistic” McClain will return after his latest mishap – an addiction to codeine which ingested by the same “purple drank” that plagued JaMarcus Russell’s career in Oakland.
It’s been over three years since the Raiders released McClain, and if the former college All-American doesn’t stick in Dallas, it’s likely he’s played his final down in the NFL.
