Report: Sean Smith Arrested, Charged With Felony Assault

If Sean Smith was already in danger of being released by the Raiders, it might not be long now.

According to TMZ, Smith was arrested on Thursday and charged with felony assault stemming from an alleged attack on his sister’s boyfriend on July 4 in Pasadena, CA.

Smith is entering the second year of a four-year, $38 million deal with the Raiders. His first season in silver and black was underwhelming and it’s beginning to look like their won’t be a second.

Prior to Smith’s arrest, the Raiders were enjoying a three-year stretch without any players on the roster being arrested.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Smith will plead ‘not guilty‘ to the charges.
