The Raiders have serious issues on offense right now.
Some of those issues seem correctable, and others might need the kind of change that can only come in the offseason.
One perceived problem that can be addressed now, though, is offensive play calling.
Offensive coordinator Luke Getsy has taken a lot of criticism over the first 8 weeks of the season, and many believe the Raiders need to shake things up sooner than later.
‘JT the Brick’ hosts a weekday radio show on the team’s flagship radio station and he wasn’t shy after Sunday’s loss with his take on the Raiders’ offensive play calling.
“I think the play caller needs to be changed as of now, whoever they want to do [it],” JT said on his Raider Nation Radio show on Monday. “I think there’s going to be some changes being made that could make some of the games more competitive.”
At Monday’s press conference, head coach Antonio Pierce said he didn’t want to question play calling and essentially doubled down on the idea that he wants the Raiders to be a run-first team.
When asked if the team might lean away from running the ball going forward, Pierce didn’t mince words with his answer.
”Oh, no, we got to run the ball. Can’t do that,” Pierce said.
“[We] can’t sit there and throw the ball 50 times, 40 times. We haven’t been successful doing it, so we’ll keep pounding again. On Wednesday, we’ll get back out there again… and figure out how to run the ball… [and] do whatever it takes to win the line of scrimmage.”

Antonio Pierce is clueless as far as coaching an entire team, specifically the offense. He is a defensive coach, maybe not even a defensive coordinator. He wants to run the ball. He wants to win games by 3 points. He wants to be right. But. He will NEVER be a winning NFL coach by ‘wanting’ something. The play calling is not only less than every successful NCAA team but sub-high school play calling and the clock management is the worst in the NFL in 40 years. Getsy must go, or AP WILL be fired at the end of the season. He has ZERO skills in coaching a first round QB, so he is gone. Also, all of those advisors and ex-NFL mouth pieces in his ear got him fired.
The ONLY thing that AP has going for him is that Mark Davis doesn’t care as long as the visiting teams keep filling up 90% of the stadium. Just Sellout Baby!
AP is over his skis. Lafleur is the offensive genious in Green Bay. Not Nate Hackett and not Luke Getsy. That should be painfully obvious. How on earth did Getsy’s performance in Chicago warrant his hiring? Dumb, dumb, dumb.
When your star OT is getting manhandled worse than everyone else and you OC is weaker than a two hour old kitten, there’s big trouble. Add in a Q that is playing like a complete scrub it’s over.

The run game needs to have a solid running back and blocking. Raiders have a decent back in Mattison but only averaging 80yds as a team on the ground..keep in mind leading rusher d.henry has 30 less carries and 300 more yds. The raiders should have bet the house in draft to get Daniels like AP wanted and we could be having a very different conversation. New o.c. is a must
If AP thinks running the ball is the answer then there lyes the problem,he needs to be replaced as well if not more so then the play caller, because a bad team is a reflection of a bad coach and staff. Not the players executing the plays,was a big AP FAN NOT SO MUCH THESE LAST FEW WEEKS. LET’S GO MARK,HIT RESET NOW! Telesco shouldn’t get to comfy either. When are we going to stop being bottom feeders of the NFL, coaches, players,etc….and we as fans just go along with it?
To replace Getsy , possibly at the least , get that young guy who was calling plays for us during the last few games of 2023.

Getsy needs to go or be demoted. 4 runs in a row with 1st and goal and negative yards no rpo no no play action one play the whole right side was open. My Grandfather could have ran the ball into pay dirt. Getsy has become so predictable.Spagnola wasn’t fooled he knew what was coming. Hard to win games if you can’t throw or run the ball? Fix the O line. They need to cut James and Parham yesterday. Put JPJ at center, move Mumford to RG and leave Blaze at RT. Keep Miller at LT and we need a LG? The most important parts of the O line is the Center and both guards at the point of attack and we don’t have that.
If you need to run the ball then why on earth did you let one of the best running backs in the league go aka Josh Jacobs??? You need a good solid running back! Go out and get one. GET A NEW Offensive Cordinator and someone that can develop AC and the other QB you just acquired. The Raidersc used to be good at player development, have we just given up.on this. A P is stupid still insisting on running first with Getsy continually pissing away almost every 1st and 2nd down of almost every series in every game with stupid predictable stuffed runs up the middle creating continuous 3rd and longs for punts and losses – and not nearly enough play action with quick passes over the middle – for passing first to set up the run instead – and stupid no gain passes at the line of scrimmage – instead of down field – and QB on run pass options handing it off for run stuffs instead of keeping it rolling and passing – are terrible decisions – And Edgar Bennett needs to go always the first to be hired with routes running into coverage never changing routes to turn around quicker to be Open always causes QBs to take too long and get sacked – and in defense – too much zone instead of tight man coverage lets big slow Kelce get open continually to kill us – and not enough safety blitzes to let other QBs run wild to kill us – All without adjustments are Not made – like Madden or Collinsworth – I can SEE what’s happening – that the Raiders – their alumni – NFL analysts and content creators can’t – and as a consultant redesigning all the offense I could win every game – but the Raiders put themselves above everyone and are impossible to contact except for the stupid stadium – Paul Glover football grand master analyst – I can beat them all and could help us Win constantly BandOfLife@gmail.com
Lose the coach. Get Gruden back….American can forgive him for old email comments. He is our best chance to return to greatness. Can’t believe the coaching decisions. Losing. Carr, Jacobs, Cooper, Mack, Devante Adams as well as various good receivers . Wonder why we’re losing?

I am a die heart raider fan and to me the front office tanked this season on purpose, they had to know that either of these QBs was not very good now I know they probably couldn’t get a really good QB but this season is already over I hope they do better in the draft
Really need to work on the offensive line if you want to call it that. If you want a running game. If there slugs they can’t make any holes, then they just become another obstacle for the running back to get through. But I do agree we do need to change our offensive play caller trying to run the ball has nothing to go with his errors. It’s his play call timing that really sucks sorry. Been a raiders fan whole life just 52 and frustrated with theplay calling every year it’s the same thing.

Actually the oc and couch should move out….bring a real couch with better ideas….couch have to learm more….this team is to big for him…
