Deion Sanders has talked about choosing where his sons play in the NFL, and even though we might not know which teams he has his sights set on for Shedeur (many believe he prefers the Raiders), there is definitely some potential for Deion to throw a few wrinkles into the upcoming draft.
“I know where I kind of want them to go,” Deion said in March about Shedeur and teammate Travis Hunter. “And let’s not forget Shilo [Sanders]. But I know where I want them to go. There’s certain cities where it ain’t going to happen. …It’s going to be an Eli [Manning].”
It seems obvious that the Sanders family would be happy to see Shedeur in Las Vegas, but what about New York or Cleveland?
It has been reported that the Giants are focused on University of Miami quarterback Cam Ward and some believe Deion Sanders doesn’t want Shedeur playing for the Giants.
An unverified report on X took that sentiment a step farther and on Saturday suggested there are two NFL destinations that Shedeur would be happy with: the Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys.
Yet another Sanders entered the conversation following that report when Deion Sanders Jr. said the author of the story was “completely lying.”
The tweet by ‘NFL Rookie Watch’ didn’t source anyone with the report, but the claim is one that actually make sense. It also lines up with another rumor that popped up this week.
Former Miami booster Nevin Shapiro (look him up if you are interested in his complicated past) appeared this week on The Pacman Jones Show and dropped a huge claim on Shedeur and the Giants.
“People out there who might not be familiar with Nevin, [he] knows every major superstar that’s come out of Florida for the last 30 years,” co-host Evan Rosenblum said about Shapiro going into the segment. “You’re plugged in with GMs, you’re plugged in with programs, you’re plugged in with everybody.”
According to Shapiro, the Raiders aren’t going to have to fight for Sanders with the New York Giants because the Giants are locked in on Ward.
“I’m being told through reliable sources Cam Ward is going to the New York Giants. Guaranteed,” Shapiro said this week on The Pacman Jones Show. “And the University of Miami’s offensive coordinator is going with him. I’m telling you. Holler at me April 25th, whenever the draft is.”
Furthermore, Shapiro says Deion Sanders does not want Shedeur going to the Giants and wants his son playing for the Raiders a year from now.
As for the Browns, does anyone really think Deion has his fingers crossed that Shedeur will end up in Cleveland?
