Raiders still fighting for respect after 3-0 start
After winning their first three games, should the Raiders be considered a legitimate playoff contender?
Not everyone is buying the Raiders and former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said on Thursday he believes the Raiders are headed for a big losing streak.
“[I’m] very happy for their 3-0 start. Where are they going to be after week 11? I’m going to say they’re going to be 4-7,” Fitzpatrick said on the Fitz and Whit podcast.
“I’m just putting it out there. This is not me rooting against teams. I’m trying to be Nostradamus here. I don’t want to be a hater. Last year, Houston was sitting at 0-3. I told you they’re going to make the playoffs. I know I made the Miami take of 0-17 this year, which I still believe, but I just look at the schedule for the Raiders. I look at how things have played out so far, which have been great for them. [I’m] very happy for Kubiak, Happy for Kirk Cousins.”
“It’s going to be a rough stretch of games here in the next eight weeks. I’m not a hater I’m just trying to tell you what’s going to happen.”
Raiders have brutal schedule for the next 2 months…
Sunday’s game against the Chiefs will go a long way toward determining what the Raiders are really about this year, and the schedule isn’t going to get a lot friendlier for the remainder of October.
After hosting the Chiefs in week 4, the Raiders play the Patriots, Bills, Rams, Jets, 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos.
After that, the Raiders get the Browns, Chargers, Broncos, Titans and Cardinals before ending the season on the road at the Chiefs.
This year feels different…
The difference with Kubiak’s team this year is the winning finally looks sustainable. The defense has been making plays, and confidence is beginning to build in the locker room.
Earlier in the week, former Raider linebacker Kirk Morrison said Connor Heyward told him the team feels prepared to win every week thanks to Kubiak’s preparation.
“The one thing that I would say is this and I got this from Connor Heyward after I think last week’s game. He told me straight up, he said, ‘Man, we’re prepared,’” Morrison said on Raider Nation Radio’s Unnecessary Roughness with Q Myers.
“We are prepared. Yes, we go into every single game and we are prepared. And that is something that going into every game, I feel like this team goes in not saying ‘I hope we win’ or ‘I think we could win.’ It’s like, ‘We are prepared and we know how to win. We know how to get it done. We know what needs to be done and what is being asked of us.’ And that is something that I’m starting to see now through three weeks.”

Problem with is that this is the NFL now & it’s watered down. Cleveland was embarrassed week 1, now they can’t be stopped. Washington enters in with a backup against the Super Bowl champs & they win.
It’s a bipolar league.
