Former Raiders Teammate Says He Knows How Derek Carr will Respond to Facing His Former Team

The NFL released the schedule on Thursday and one of the most anticipated games of the Raiders’ regular season isn’t going to happen until December 29 in New Orleans.

On paper, it’s just another early game on Sunday involving two unfamiliar foes, but Derek Carr’s first game against his former team will pique the interest of even casual Raider fans.

It was a complicated nine years that Carr spent with the Raiders, and his final weeks with the team were messier than anyone wanted to see. Now the Raiders will face the quarterback they dumped for Jimmy Garoppolo in a game could have playoff implications for both teams.

Former Raiders’ fullback Marcel Reece talked about Carr’s reunion with the Raiders this week on the Up and Adams Show, and he believes the game will mean “everything” to Carr.

“That game is going to be everything to DC,” Reece said.

“Mark my words now,” he continued. “Derek Carr the entire week is going to say that it’s just another game to him. He’s not going to say anything else because you don’t want to get too emotional before the game. But once that game starts, you are going to see DC hollering and screaming and getting his team up. That is going to be a fun game to watch.”

There’s a lot of time between now and the last week of December, but if Carr is healthy and the teams are both in the playoff hunt, who wouldn’t want to see the Raiders and Saints flexed to Sunday night?

  1. I hope DC destroys them on national TV. This is from a Raiders fan who’d rather see Carr’s Saints go to the playoffs instead of the Raiders after how he was treated. Sweet justice.

    1. You call yourself a Raiders fan? You’re a Carr fan, go cheer for the saints you douche

    2. Raiders “fan” that would rather they lose??? Please stop claiming this team Sir. What a joke!!

    3. The KC Queefs await you Benedict Arnold.
Shhhhhhhh cause I love DC but that was McDaniels, Not the “Raiders” and he is gone.
You’re either a fan or your not and you aint.

    4. I say good riddance to Josh Mac. It was a business decision to bench Carr as they already were going to release him as our season was far over. I liked Carr as a person, but man, he was just MEDIACORE as a QB. After 9 years, his time was up. two playoffs appearances and both losses. You don’t pay a QB 40-50 mil a year for that. As for you going for Carr and the Saints, that’s your choice, BUT YOU AIN’T NO TRUE RAIDER FAN.

  2. Who cares? The Raiders moved on at QB
It’s approaching creepy levels these weirdos need to stop trying to make a TMZ story out of this past situation

  3. You are no Raiders fan! Go buy an Aints hat! F that sorry QB who was just another Phillip cry me a Rivers! You wanted to remain with a QB with a ceiling of mediocrity? Maxx will make sure his old buddy does what he always does under pressure, curl up on the ground 😂😂😂. Raiders are going to whop that cowards team for sure!

  4. I want to see raiders vs saints in the super bowl with raiders winning 45 to 0 again like the last time when Carr was a raider and I felt sad that we let him go but I think if QB on the raiders learn how to run and gun with the weapons we have and defense plays with the same as last year raiders can go far
