If You’re Assessing Derek Carr, Best To Wait Until There’s No Time On The Clock

Derek Carr loves to feast on a fourth-quarter defense. He also loves to feast on a premature tweet.

Such was the case on Thursday night when Fox Sports 1’s Jason Whitlock offered a witty in-game synopsis of Carr’s performance against the Chiefs.

Not necessarily the worst tweet at the time, but it looks like a real stinker next to 417 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, no interceptions, and a comeback win for the ages.

It’s okay, Jason. You’re new around here. It happens all the time. Carr is “average” to start a lot of games, but he has more fourth-quarter comebacks (13) over the past three years than any quarterback in football.

We’ll give Whitlock a mulligan on this one, but we’re keeping score from here.

  1. Jason Whitlock has come up with some winners like the comment on Jeremy Lin.
I thought he was a articulate, good writer.
    Maybe he’s just average.
