Two weeks ago, former offensive guard Richie Incognito took to social media to share a long list of criticisms on the Raiders’ offense.
Incognito didn’t mention offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, though it was pretty clear who he was talking about.
Now, after two embarrassing offensive performances in a row from the Raiders’ offense, Incognito is done leaving out names.
On The Arena podcast on Friday, Incognito called out Kelly and shared what he believes to be the core issues with Kelly’s coaching.
Incognito believes Chip Kelly’s offense doesn’t translate to the NFL, play calling is awful
“Chip Kelly’s offense is not translating to the NFL. It is a complete mess,” Incognito said.
“We have a workhorse in Ashton Jeanty. [We] need to feed him the ball. Everyone’s saying, ‘Well, the offensive line is bad up front.’ To get the offensive line in the game, you have to run the ball.”
“You have to go downhill at these guys. You have to dictate the tempo of the game. If you have guys backing up and you’re dropping back 35, 40 times with Geno Smith, it’s not going to work. Chip, in his infinite wisdom, thinks that we cannot run the ball and still get play action to work. You have to threaten them a little bit with the run and get your play action going. We’re running play action out of the shotgun. We’re putting it in Geno’s hands, and Geno is turning it over left and right.”
Incognito thinks the issue with Chip Kelly is that he thinks he is smarter than everyone
“I think Chip Kelly, his issue is, he thinks he’s smarter than everybody, and he’s going to let you know that he’s smarter than everybody.”
“But in the NFL, there’s a lot of smart guys, and there’s a lot of great players. So, this bullsh– offense that he’s running is not working. Chip needs to look himself in the mirror and ask himself about the personnel decisions they’ve made, the offensive line that they’ve trotted out there.”
Incognito has not been happy with the Raiders’ offensive line shuffle
“We have our right guard go down, a second-round pick, Jackson Powers-Johnson. And they’re pulling him in and out of the lineup.”
“He’s our second-best offensive lineman next to Kolton Miller… a highly touted Oregon guy, right? Rimington Award winner. This guy is the best center in the nation. He’s a second-round pick. So, let’s put him at right guard and have him rotate with Alex Cappa, who is the worst pass blocking guard in the NFL.”
“Now Jackson Powers goes down. What are we going to do? We’re going to start two undrafted free agents, Will Putnam and Jordan Meredith, undersized guys, and we’re not going play our third-round picks. We have two third-round studs that we’ve had. So, I’ll wrap this up. I think there’s a lot of funk around the Raiders organization right now, and those fingers need to be pointed at Chip Kelly. That defense is good enough for them to win.”

Kelly is all but out the door, but is Pete Carroll’s job on the line, too?
There are still seven weeks left in the regular season, but it already seems like a foregone conclusion that Kelly isn’t going to be back with the Raiders next year.
Every indication has been that head coach Pete Carroll is going to get a second season, but Sports Illustrated insider Albert Breer said this week that Carroll’s job might not be safe, either.
On Wednesday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler called Carroll a “name to monitor” in the weeks ahead but does not believe Carroll would simply walk away from the situation in Las Vegas.
“Carroll is a name to monitor because the Raiders are clearly in rebuilding mode from a roster/talent standpoint,” Fowler said.
“At 74, he is in it to win now and to prove that he’s capable of turning around an organization. Those plans aren’t meshing. I don’t necessarily see him walking away, though he’s clearly not getting what he signed up for in January.”

I bet a dollar every Raiders fan thinks the same thing. Chip Kelly just ain’t getting it done.
He isn’t getting it done along with the Carrolls and Spytek. I doubt that Kelly put this OL together or traded their most effective WR or traded for Geno or picked this underwhelming draft class!
Sell the team mark, please!
