Maxx Crosby trade rumors have picked up a little momentum in recent weeks, and the teams primarily linked to a potential trade for Crosby have been the Eagles and 49ers.
Earlier this week, the California Post’s Vinny Bonsignore put out the parameters of a deal he believes the Raiders would take from the 49ers and this week, Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter talked about a trade from Philadelphia he thinks the Raiders would not take.
“I do not think the Raiders have any interest in Jalen Carter. I think there are a lot of teams that do not have any interest in Jalen Carter. So no, I do not think that would move the needle for the Raiders at all,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.
“Again, I want to reiterate, because anytime I say anything, either people are incredibly ignorant, or they just like trying to cause trouble. So just be a person who listens. When I reported to you after the season, that there was a good chance that Maxx was going to get moved, people did not believe it and he got moved to the Ravens.”
“I’m telling you, the Raiders are not shopping him. He’s not demanding a trade. But there is significant interest. There are several teams. I think the 49ers… their interest level is high. I think the Eagles are super high,” Carpenter continued.
“But with neither party wanting a divorce, someone’s going to have to move the needle and [the Jalen Carter] trade option would not at all.”
Based on the way Bonsignore and Carpenter have reported on Crosby’s trade status, it sounds like they have an understanding of what the Raiders would take (and not take) for the All Pro edge rusher.
For anyone who missed it, Bonsignore believes the Raiders would be interested in less than two first-round picks in return for Crosby from the 49ers if the deal involved Mykel Williams.
“Multiple league sources have told The California Post that the framework for a suitable offer would consist of a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick and second-year edge rusher Mykel Williams,” Bonsignore wrote in his Sunday column.
“It’s an offer the 49ers would be wise to consider making. And situated with a league-leading $72,133,420 of cap space, they could easily absorb Crosby’s $30 million base salary for 2026.”
“Trading Crosby would certainly cause short-term pain [for the Raiders]. But if they successfully cash in on the assets they get in return, they will not only expedite their rebuild but also greatly enhance it,” Bonsignore continued.
“That was the motivation when they traded Crosby to the Ravens, only for Baltimore to get cold feet over concerns with Crosby’s knee upon further inspection. The Ravens nixed the deal as a result. But don’t think for a minute the Raiders wouldn’t revisit a Crosby trade if the right offer was made.”

That trade is somewhat appealing. I think adding a fourth round in 27 and a seventh rounder in 28 would be more equitable
This guy knows nothing. Jalen Carter is a monster. Was an animal in the Super Bowl win for the Eagles. Probably the best young DT in the NFL.
He’s also got character issues. It would be a big risk to give him a big money deal. If Philly is looking to move him we should be cautious.
Still Hondo is a self righteous moron
