Insider Names Raiders’ Starting Offensive Tackles “If the Season Started Today”

The Raiders were rumored to be looking at offensive tackles with their first pick in the 2025 draft, but didn’t address the position until the end of the third round when they took Texas Tech OT Caleb Rogers and William & Mary OT Charles Grant.

With some questions still around Kolton Miller’s contract situation and no clear answer at the right tackle position, the Raiders have some things to sort out on both sides of their offensive line.

But according to Sports Illustrated’s Hondo Carpenter, the Raiders are moving into the 2025 season feeling good about Miller at left tackle and are leaning toward featuring a second-year player at right tackle.

“If the season were to start today, [D.J. Glaze] is your starting right tackle, and Kolton’s your starting left tackle,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.

Former Raiders GM Tom Telesco took some criticism when he drafted Glaze in the third round of last year’s draft, but the rookie ended up starting 14 games in his first NFL season. He played 998 snaps last year – all at right tackle.

Additionally, Glaze ended the year with a better Pro Football Focus grade than Jackson Powers-Johnson, Andre James and Thayer Munford Jr. – which isn’t bad for a player PFF called “one of the biggest reaches” of the 2024 draft.

As for Miller, Carpenter said he expects the veteran left tackle to be with the Raiders in 2025 unless a team offers them “something stupid” in return for him between now and the mid-season trade deadline.
