Insider Names Trade Deadline Quarterback He Believes the Raiders Would Be Interested In

With the NFL trade deadline less than a week away, some have wondered if the Raiders might consider going after a young quarterback like former first-overall pick Bryce Young.

The Raiders don’t have much to feel good about at quarterback and most would agree that Young has significantly more upside than Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.

Additionally, it sounds like the cost to get Young might be a day 3 pick in the draft.

“I don’t think Carolina’s going to do any better than a fourth-rounder for Young right now,” ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported this week, and some would say that’s a reasonable price for a team as desperate at quarterback as the Raiders.

But according to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, the Raiders have a few skeptics in the building when it comes to Young. Tafur thinks there might be, however, a young quarterback the team would be interested in if he became available.

“I think the Raiders might be more interested in Anthony Richardson,” Tafur said on the Just Win podcast this week. “I think the high concerns about Bryce Young that everybody has are also shared in this building. I don’t think the Colts are going to trade Richardson, but if they were going to, I think the Raiders might listen or be involved in whatever talks there were.”

It’s highly unlikely that Richardson will somehow end up on the Raiders in the next week, and Tafur said as much in the podcast.

If nothing else, the most relevant detail to his comments was probably the sentiment on Bryce Young.

Maybe someone will be willing to give up a fourth-round pick for Young, but it doesn’t sound like it’s going to be the Raiders.

  1. Enough with looking for a Quarterback that should have been done in the off-season… they got ridder start him . Offense needs a jumpstart… if he’s good and wins work with him in the bye week and get ready for a wildcard run… might get surprised what he can do… Do Something this offense needs to find a system and Quarterback that match..improvise during the game when the play breaks down… instead of Quarterback shopping get a fullback who can catch run and pickup the pass rush blitz… it gives the Quarterback an extra target or blocker… the defense has more to cover and think about… start ridder nothing to lose but the game and I’m already sick of that… leave the defense alone their good …

  2. I looking to see what recycled charger gm is going to do. Telesco is a disaster.
“Get us a qb. Not a minshew or practice squad unknown. All you’re doing is collecting a check.”

  3. Maybe convert a tight end who can block as well as pickup the pass rush blitz… they had a good WR in hunter and they cut him…greedy foolish move… letting Jacobs and cutting carr was A I move. And you know what they say Artificial intelligence its like having natural stupidity for a brain… who’s making all these changes… Captain Kangaroo. MR Clock or Mr Moose yeah I’m showing my age I’ve been a long time Oakland Raiders fan but man if the front line can’t do the job don’t blame the QB running back or receivers… the offensive line can’t protect the Quarterback or the Coach and they have gone through to many already…

  4. I love the silver and black. I have been a fan since ’74, but let’s be honest. Knowing how much turmoil and drama this organization has been through in just this decade alone, other than just getting a check without any commitment to having a winning team again, would you really want to play for the RAIDERS right now?
