Is it time to be worried about Jackson Powers-Johnson?
The Raiders’ highly touted second-round pick didn’t touch the field during training camp and there hasn’t been any indication of a timeline for his return – or at least the indications that we’ve been given to his point haven’t played out.
On Friday, August 2, Vinny Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that the team was hoping Powers-Johnson would be back by the end of that week or early the following week, but neither scenario played out in training camp.
There haven’t been any concrete updates on the status of Powers-Johnson, and the talking points around his health, or whatever is going on with him, are starting to gain momentum.
“Jackson Powers-Johnson is now on a level of 1 to 10, I am at the 4 in concern,” JT The Brick said on his Raider Nation Radio show on Thursday. “And I like this guy. He’s a guy who recites the Autumn Wind. I want to see him at some point. If he’s going to play, he’s got to play in the preseason. You can’t start him against Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa if he doesn’t play.”
The official word on Powers-Johnson is that he is missing time due to a concussion, but there are a lot more questions than answers at this point. We’re not getting much information on JPJ and that might not mean anything, but many times that isn’t a great sign.
Put it this way… JT The Brick isn’t the only one starting to get a little nervous about JPJ.
Maybe he’ll back after the trip to Minnesota?
