Jon Gruden Talks Carr, Cooper, And Lynch. Says He Needs More From Previous Draft Picks.

NFL Network’s Mike Silver sat down with Jon Gruden for a segment that aired Monday on the network’s Good Morning Football show.

Gruden talked about Derek Carr, Marshawn Lynch, and what he’s looking for in the draft.

“How do you not get along with Derek Carr?” Gruden told Silver. He’s in here early, he sets the tone, not only for the offense but for the football team. He’s also excited about some of the acquisitions we have made.”

Asked about Lynch, Gruden kept his answer (at least what was aired) to ‘Beast Mode’ as a person.

“He’s a generous person. He gives a lot of himself. A lot of people don’t know him. I’ sure they would be surprised by all the things he does. He really involved in this community.”

Lastly, Gruden talked about the draft and acknowledged (not surprisingly) that the Raiders are willing to listen to offers for the 10th pick. He also emphasized the need for picks from the past three drafts to start making a greater impact.

“What’s most important is we get more out of our last three draft classes. We know who Amari Cooper is, but we need Gareon Conley back on the field. Obi Melifonwu. Some of these players from our previous three drafts got to help us out.”
