Khalil Mack isn’t talking to the media and he isn’t talking to his head coach, but he is lurking in the shadows on social media and on Tuesday passed along an interesting post on his verified Instagram account.
The general message of the clip can be summed up in one sentence toward the end of the video:
“I may have thought it would take an hour and it took a week, I don’t give a f— as long as the end result is I got it done. That’s it…”

Generally, cryptic social media messages aren’t a great idea to pass along, but it’s hard to imagine this one didn’t hit home with Mack on his contract dispute. There have been a number of reports that Mack’s representation is very unhappy with the way the Raiders are approaching his extension, which considering his nearly three-week holdout, can’t be argued at this point.
For what it’s worth, there are others chiming in on social media about Mack’s contract status – one being his former head coach, who also thinks the Raiders need to step up and pay the man.

What does JDR know about running a football team… he would cower to an agents agenda… All the reports are generated by KM’s agent. IF he had simply showed up, maybe this would be done already… who’s choice is it at this stage of KM’s career is this to drag this through the mud?… he could really screw himself if he does as Chris Carter and that loser crew suggests and sits out 9 games… what then Chris, tag him next year… regardless he’s 30 yrs old when he leaves the RAIDERS unless we trade him for the loot. which IMHO is an idea worthy of serious thought

Reggie only negotiates with players at camp. Said so last year. The game Mack’s agent has him playing is not a good one.

Okay, so I watched the video. To me it says, “All I wanna do is get PAID!. If the RAIDERS don’t pay me somebody else will!”

A minute or a week in this case could be the difference between a trade this season or play out/hold out this season then get tagged next season which you’ll have to play and well as so you can still sell yourself as the best. Dude, man up and start talking to the Reggie. Be a great football player, one with character and integrity in tact. Reggie has a fair track record just show up and see, what could that hurt?
That scenario is why I believe this whole thing along with the entire nfl is scripted, just as the most of the rest of “entertainment”.

Mack holding out is him doing what his agent tells him to do when it comes to contract negotiations, his agent’s profession.
McKenzie is not talking a deal until Mack is in the facility reporting for work. That’s how he does things.
Mack has more to lose and will blink first.
But this does not mean there are any hard feelings or bad mojo between the organization and the player, this is the business side of things and sometimes it looks ugly, when in reality it’s not at all.

No physical, no guaranteed money!! Come to camp and we can talk otherwise your just wasting our time.. Reggie has to be prudent that’s why he has a real GM job and not just a fantasy opinion one..
I also agree with the comment that no one player is greater than the whole of the team. If Mack is willing to sit out the season, the Raiders should be willing to trade him. These players make so much money compared to most people, that it shouldn’t take 60 or 70 million dollars guaranteed to motivate a guy to go play football evey Sunday for half a year.
I know he deserves a significant pay raise but I’m wondering where his heart really is. He says he loves football, says he loves his teammates but I’m not so sure. He has to know that not being a part of all the new things they have going on is hurting the team. Why not come in, have a seat with his agent, Reggie and Gruden and talk this thing over? If you don’t like what you hear, take the pads and helmet off after practice, go home and stay there until they come up with a number you like. It would be a show of good faith because as someone pointed out McKenzie doesn’t negotiate with guys who aren’t there. It isn’t as if they’re going to place him under house arrest if he comes in. He can walk out the same door he walked in.

Reggie waited for Penn to check in before he gave him a raise. That’s how he does his business and I agree with that approach. Mack should know this. In my opinion Mack should get another agent. It’s not Mack is getting paid peanuts this year. Hes under contract. Hes a great player, he deserves and extension ,but his new coach and his teammates are working. Carr ignored all comments about his contract because he was focusing on football.
As great as Mack is , this team has improved without him , obviously not because of his absence ,but because it was going to improve anyway. Put Mack on top of all of that and this defense could be special. Regardless of how this ends, the people who who deserve this to work out are the loyal fans of the silver and black who work normal jobs and spend their hard earn money to support this team through thick and thin. There’s been a whole lot of thin and we are on the cusp of seeing greatness again. This needs to get done. It’s not rocket science to see that this offense was built around Carr. And this defense was built around Mack.
