Khalil Mack To Be “Full-Time Pass Rusher” At Defensive End

The Raiders released their first depth chart of the season, and while it’s considered “unofficial” by the team, the announcement does appear to confirm Khalil Mack’s transition to defensive end. The updated roster still lists him as a 252-pound linebacker, but Mack confirmed in May that he has added muscle and is closer to 265 pounds.

Mack is expected to move around in Jack Del Rio’s defense, but NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes the Raiders’ second-year defensive star will be a “full-time pass rusher” going forward.

Expect to see more of Khalil Mack with his hand in the dirt.

Mack’s replacement at linebacker, for now at least, appears to be Ray-Ray Armstrong with Curtis Lofton and Malcolm Smith rounding out the group. Third-year linebacker, Sio Moore, recorded 89 tackles and three sacks in just 11 games last year. As he eases back from hip surgery, he’ll be very much in the mix to retain his starting job.
