As far as Super Bowl matchups go, Raider fans got their nightmare scenario this year with two of their bitter rivals playing in Allegiant Stadium for the Lombardi Trophy.
The majority of Raider fans, particularly those who don’t live in the Bay Area, will be rooting against the Chiefs, but Maxx Crosby says he isn’t going to be a part of the group on Sunday.
“Selfishly, I want the Chiefs to win so we can be the ones to take them down and take them off that pedestal,” Crosby said on NFL Network this week. “I take it really personal. I’ve got the ultimate respect for [Patrick] Mahomes, Chris Jones, and all those guys, but they’re the ones standing in our way, so I’m looking forward to seeing them again next season.”
Crosby has been making the media rounds this week at the Super Bowl, and he also found an opportunity to explain why he talked so much trash to Colts’ QB Gardner Minshew and called him a “Little Boy” when they met in week 17.
“I’m always trying to find an advantage to get in people’s heads,” Crosby said. “For me, I’m usually not the one that starts it, but if there’s something that triggers me a little bit, I’m going all the way… once I start there’s no stopping.”
“With Minshew it was the same thing,” Crosby continued. “What people don’t even realize, they finally showed what happened. I knocked him down and when I tried to help him up, he pulled his hand away. I’m like ‘Alright. Bet.’ So I was on him the whole game.”
