It’s been a rough start to the season for Raiders All-Pro defensive end Maxx Crosby.
A different teammate of Crosby’s seems to go down with an injury every week, his sack total is below where it usually is at this point in the season, and the Raiders are sitting on a 2-8 record.
And if those problems weren’t enough, the MMA-loving Crosby had to stand quietly while a 5’8, 175-pound head coach mocked him from the sideline on Sunday.
After Crosby jumped offsides in last week’s 34-19 loss to the Dolphins, head coach Mike McDaniel took full advantage of the hot microphone following him around, and let Crosby know about it.
“We didn’t even have a play called, Maxx!” McDaniel yelled at Crosby before adding “L-O-L” and walking away.
Crosby seemed to acknowledge McDaniel with a nod, but didn’t say anything that was caught on camera.
For all the talk about fans running their mouth to players on social media, it’s with noting that media personalities, coaches and even staff on the sidelines sometimes talk a big game, too.
Back in 2019, Derek Carr challenged Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman to a fight in the Octogon and in a perfect world that would have happened.
Fans have had enough of the geriatric legends boxing trained fighters in their prime… so why can’t we get sports and political rivals in the ring to settle their differences?
Carr vs. Kellerman would have been more entertaining than Tyson vs. Paul, and Crosby vs. McDaniel would be the better use of a Netflix subscription, too.
All jokes aside, there’s no bad blood between McDaniel and Crosby and that was evident after the game. But who wouldn’t pay to watch Crosby fight an actual MMA professional?
That is something he has talked about doing someday.

It’s a desperate team again I can’t stop shaking my head for over 10 years now.
Every body talks trash… but what gets me is why is MD selling so much Raiders stock… did his advisors get him in money trouble… just like Vegas gamble and loose your shirt and Football team… Vegas is not a football town no home field advantage…
Sign Jones it’s a cheap but efficient way to see if he fits… play him and try to finish on a positive …
