Poll Says Raider Fans Support Khalil Mack’s Decision To Hold Out

Generally when a player holds out for money, fans rush to the support of the team. It’s a dynamic that can almost always be counted on.

But in Khalil Mack’s case, it seems a larger faction of the Raider fan base is already supporting Mack’s decision to holdout.

This poll was posted on Monday in wake of the news that Mack would not be showing up for the Raiders mandatory minicamp that begins today.

Admittedly, a social media poll is hardly a scientific survey, but fans on Twitter have at least spoken. They want the Raiders to give Mack the money.

The details of Mack’s negotiations obviously aren’t known so we really don’t know who might be holding up the process. Mack may want all the money and the kitchen sink, or the Raiders could be considering a year-by-year approach to paying him (i.e. the franchise tag).

Whatever the case, Mack signed a four-year, $18.68 deal as a rookie and has grossly outplayed that contract. The fans (or most of them in this corner of the interwebs) don’t seem to want to see the team squabble over money that in their mind Mack has already earned.

Raider fans are some of the most loyal in the industry… but they don’t play around when it comes to their superstars.

“Show the man his money!”

  1. Raiders will wind up passing him off and losing him down the road. Why wait for Arron Donald to sign. Whoever signs last will get the most. He needs to get in there and learn the new system. Get it done.
