It’s hard to overstate how poorly the Raiders’ offensive line was coached in 2025, but the evidence seems to be stacking every week now that the new season is underway.
On Sunday, the Raiders got elite performances from their offensive tackles and the offensive line group as a whole was one of the top-graded groups in the league by Pro Football Focus.
Last year, the Raiders offensive line gave up 64 sacks. On Sunday, they gave up none.
There are some new faces among the Raiders’ starting O-line group, but it’s interesting that one of their worst performers of a year ago was the league’s top graded guard by Pro Football Focus in week 1.
Last year, Dylan Parham looked like a player who might be playing himself out of the league, and there were too many examples like the one below where Parham and others looked lost in their blocking assignments.
The Jets signed Parham to a two-year, $16 million deal in the offseason, and it looked like wasted money to anyone who watched the Raiders’ offensive line in 2025.
But on Sunday, Parham earned a 92.9 run blocking grade from Pro Football Focus as the Jets ran the ball 39 times against the hapless Titans.
Breece Hall and Braelon Allen both averaged 4+ yards per carry, and the Jets controlled the clock for more than 38 minutes of the game.
‘JT the Brick’ on the Raiders’ offensive line in 2025…
A lot has been revealed about what went wrong with the Raiders’ offensive line last year, and flagship radio host ‘JT the Brick’ was the most recent to recognize the failures of last year’s coaching staff.
“Throw out last year’s offensive line. They weren’t coached properly. They weren’t taught properly,” JT said on his Raider Nation Radio show.
“[There was] no teaching. They didn’t even know if they were going to play the week of gameday. Now this thing is buttoned up. So with Kolton Miller, Spencer Burford, Tyler Linderbaum, Jackson Powers-Johnson and D.J. Glaze, that looks to be your starters tomorrow night and maybe into the start of the season,” JT continued.
“But there’s three or four offensive linemen behind them that can play from Jordan Meredith… Caleb Rogers, Trey Zuhn, what a hybrid player he’s going to be. He’s going to start. I’m not going out on a limb with that one. Trey Zuhn will be a starter on this Raider team sooner than later. It might be mid part of the season, maybe end of the season, maybe the start of next year. That guy is good.”
