Raiders Flagship Host Calls Monday’s Loss “Worst Game I’ve Ever Seen”

The Raiders extended their losing streak to 10 games on Monday night, and despite the fact that the team hasn’t won a game since September, Monday’s game felt different.

Maybe it was because so many stars on the roster weren’t unavailable for the game… but from special teams play, to quarterback play, to objectionable play-calling, this week felt uglier than the average loss for the Raiders.

From a competitive standpoint, the Raiders stayed with the Falcons on the scoreboard, but outside of the defense, there wasn’t a lot for season ticket holders to be excited about at Allegiant Stadium on Monday night.

Social media has been hard on the Raiders in recent weeks, but only to a lesser degree, so has the team’s flagship radio station.

“I thought the 3-0 loss to Minnesota was a better game than last night,” JT the Brick said on his Raider Nation Radio show on Tuesday. “The 3-0 loss to Minnesota I don’t remember three two blocked punts, a blocked field goal, and a safety out of the shotgun. I remember the Raiders couldn’t score, and it was a defensive standstill. [Monday night] might have been the worst game I’ve ever seen… It was pretty close. Can you recall a worse played game than that? I don’t.”

“They’ve lost by more points. They’ve given up more yardage,” JT continued. “But overall, the product from beginning, middle, and end was about as bad of a product, both teams, Atlanta and Las Vegas, that I have seen. That’s a shame. It’s kind of the only thing I’m hanging this show on right now is to have fun and be entertained and see a couple of Brock Bowers catches.”

And speaking of Bowers, JT had more to say about the 13th-overall pick, who still has an outside shot at the Offensive Rookie of the Year Award and is within reach of the NFL’s rookie receptions record for a season.

Bowers already has the rookie record for receptions by a tight end, but the record for any position was set by Puka Nacua in 2023 with 105.

“What an amazing failure to Brock Bowers that they couldn’t get him the football last night on national TV on Monday Night Football. I mean, how does that happen? Six targets, three receptions, he’s going for a record,” JT said of Bowers, who now has 90 receptions on the season with three games to go.

“He has an opportunity to go over a thousand yards. You got to check that box before you come out of the tunnel,” JT continued. “So, last night… I apologized to Brock Bowers. I spent most of the pregame show on it. I spent most of the week last week getting Brock Bowers the ball, and for whatever reason, they could not do it. And here’s the problem with that. They know what I’m saying is true. They are aware of it, you’re aware of it, and they still can’t get them the ball.”

In terms of the draft, the Raiders might benefit from losing, but it’s hard to imagine Antonio Pierce and his coaching staff are going to be able to hold onto their jobs with many more losses like the one on Monday night.

A report this week from league insider Josina Anderson addressed Pierce’s status with the Raiders, and there’s no question his job security is moving in the wrong direction right now.

“As tough as it is to hear, there are league sources who believe based on their own high-level back-table conversations that the Raiders are currently entertaining the idea of getting a new head coach, while general manager Tom Telesco is simultaneously separating himself behind the scenes,” Anderson reported this week at Bovada.

As of now, it feels like the scales are tipping in the direction of Pierce being fired after the season.

There are still three games for AP to make his case, but after Mondays disappointing effort on the national stage, it’s hard to imagine good things are on the way.

  1. “ three two blocked punts, a blocked field goal, and a safety out of the shotgun”.
The reason the entire ST and offensive offense coaching staff needs to be shown the door.

  2. The only way we get the quarterback we want is if we lose our remaining games I know it’s terrible but it’s the way it’s got to be because if anybody ends up tied with us the NFL will let them go first with their BS strength of schedule crap!
