Raiders need to consider trading for a wide receiver
The Raiders’ coaching staff is learning a little more about the team every week, and after Sunday’s narrow 30-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the coaches and everyone else learned they can play with just about any team in the league.
What was also obvious on Sunday afternoon at Allegiant Stadium is that the Raiders desperately need a true no. 1 wide receiver.
Tre Tucker is a very good receiver for what he brings to the team, but he isn’t a true no.1 receiver, and Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers talked about that on his Monday podcast.
“This team definitely needs a no. 1 wide receiver,” Myers said on the Locked on Raiders podcast.
“I think that conversation about do they need a true no. 1 or not, I think it’s pretty obvious. Especially as I mentioned, now you don’t have Jalen Nailor. He’s going through concussion protocol, so you can’t get him back until he clears it. Jack Bech is out for a handful of weeks. You’ve got Tre Tucker, Cody White and Dareke Young and that’s not who you want to rely on.”
“That’s not a slight to Tre Tucker. I think that he’s good, but you saw him at the end of the game. Sideline pass, put the ball on the ground. Certain guys aren’t that guy and so you just need to have someone else. Brock Bowers is fantastic, no. 1 target, there’s no doubt about that, but you just got to have another guy.”
Myers went on to say GM John Spytek should prioritize adding a wide receiver in the offseason “and probably two of them.”
But the question that’s bound to continue as the season moves forward is… should Spytek and company look to add a wide receiver before the November 10 trade deadline?
If the 2026 season has the potential to end in a playoff run, why not make a move for a wide receiver like Marvin Harrison Jr. and see if the former first-round pick can live up to his potential with another team?
If Harrison is going to end up somewhere other than Arizona, what team needs a wide receiver more than the Raiders?

First and foremost all fans that are not actively involved with a team coaching staff are arm chair quarterbacks! With that being said the raiders should not wait on going after a true number one receiver because it would really open up their play book as well as production. , and if they do make such a move one would also consider adding another receiver as well because of the potential for injuries. The Raiders are really looking like a professional football franchise this year so for. Please please Mark open up your wallet so we can get to work.
What #1 receiver does Q think is available for trade right now? It’s easy to say we need a #1 receiver. Every team that doesn’t have one, needs one. We can’t trade for one unless we’re willing to pay an enormous price.
Again how many titles have the Queefs won w/o Hill? Who is the Bills WRs?
I like Jamar Chase but the Seahawks won last year cuz of their defense. Building your OL/Dl is way more important IMO
