Raiders Week 5 Game at Kansas City Could be in Jeopardy

After watching the Titans/Steelers game postponed last week due to positive COVID-19 tests, it’s starting to feel like the Raiders week 5 game against the Chiefs might be in jeopardy, too.

The Raiders reportedly received a second positive COVID-19 test on Wednesday morning after defensive tackle Maurice Hurst tested positive on Tuesday. We don’t know who the player is, but it doesn’t sound like a confirmation of the Hurst report.

Now it has been reported that Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore has also tested positive for coronavirus – five days after Cam Newton tested positive on Friday of last week. The Patriots played the Chiefs on Monday night and Gilmore was all over the field… including a friendly embrace with Patrick Mahomes after the game.

So the Chiefs could be in for an eventful week as well.

Mouthpiece on the shoulder?

Depending on how many more players test positive on the Chiefs and Raiders, there definitely seems to be a growing chance that Sunday’s game in Kansas City will be postponed.

And here’s one more to think about…

Given how little we seem to know (and can agree on) about coronavirus, can we be certain that the Patriots aren’t responsible for the positive COVID-19 tests in the Raiders locker room this week?

If the virus can have an incubation of up to two weeks… the possibility isn’t too far fetched.
