Rapoport Disputes Glazer’s Estimate on Maxx Crosby’s Trade Value

The Raiders aren’t in the Super Bowl, but they stole the headlines on Wednesday when FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer dropped a report that Maxx Crosby is likely to be traded before the draft.

Glazer recounted his conversation with Crosby in December and added that he thinks the All-Pro pass rusher might have more trade value than what the Cowboys got from the Packers for Micah Parsons.

The Cowboys managed to get two first-round picks and defensive tackle Kenny Clark for Parsons and it’s hard to imagine the Raiders getting more than that for Crosby, who turns 29 before the start of the 2026 season.

Among the skeptics of Glazer’s estimate on Crosby’s trade value was NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who offered his best guess on Crosby’s trade value on the Raiders’ flagship radio station.

“It’s not going to be Micah Parsons [compensation] because [Parsons] was younger,” Rapoport said on Raider Nation Radio’s Unnecessary Roughness with Q Myers.

“But, you know, a late [first round pick] would be real. Because the Raiders, thankfully, were bad enough, they don’t have to trade to get up to [the first pick]. They got it. It’s all just capital. If that’s what it was, they’re not going to replace Maxx Crosby, even if they hit on a great pass rusher, they’re still not going to replace him. What you do it, you replace him with a player and then use the money to go get other good players and really build up the foundation of the team. For sure you could make an argument that trading him makes sense.”

A late first-round pick wouldn’t be an exciting return for Crosby and if that’s the best Tom Brady and company can get for him, they should hold on to him.

As Rapoport pointed out, Crosby isn’t going to be replaced with a first-round pick, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to let him go if they can’t get multiple assets in return.

Unless Crosby wants to go, which it sounds like he might, the Raiders should hold out for at least a couple of premium picks and demand a deal closer to what the Cowboys got for Parsons.

  1. 2-1s, 2-2s, 3-3s, & a 4th & 5th. He’s a top 15 player not inc QBs who’s always making plays in the backfield. I’d hope that the roommates (Tom & Spy) realize how valuable a player, leader, and teammate Maxx is to the Raiders

  2. Hey, here’s a novel idea. Why doesn’t the incoming coaching staff work with Maxx to assemble a formidable defense? They have plenty of cash plus Maxx has been around long enough to have a good idea where they need the most help. I know this makes a lot of sense so it probably won’t come to fruition.
