Report: Raiders Would Have Drafted RB Joe Mixon In The Second Round Had He Fallen

So much for the notion that Reggie McKenzie wouldn’t take a running back in the early rounds of the draft.

According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, the Raiders would have drafted Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon had he fallen to them in the second round of last year’s draft.

This means the Raiders may very well draft a top running back this year.

It also means the Raiders don’t actually have a “zero tolerance” policy against domestic violence.

Given the legal status of Gareon Conley at the time of the draft, think of the stir drafting Mixon would have created.

Ultimately, Mixon was scooped up by the Bengals nine picks ahead of the Raiders and McKenzie moved forward with safety Obi Melifonwu instead.

  1. SHOULDA OF WHATA OF, COULDA OF ??? LET IT GO,I…….. YOUR STIFLING GAME! 🤓🤓☻🤡👀👀🏈🏈🏈

  2. What Mixon did was not domestic violence. Stupid. Reactionary. Brutal. But not domestic violence and he has not shown any pattern of behavior to indicate this was anything other than an isolated incident. Note: I really hate domestic violence/ abuse. You will find little to no forgiveness in me for such acts. That is not what happened here.

    1. A man with a moral compass – domestic violence is bad, knocking a woman senseless is cool. Personally I am glad Mixon is a Bengal.
