Report Says Kliff Kingsbury “Likely” to be Raiders’ Offensive Coordinator if Antonio Pierce is Named Head Coach

The Raiders have not yet named a head coach, and it’s not likely that they’ll have one in the immediate future because Tuesday will be their first official interview for the position.

Antonio Pierce is the favorite to get the job, but until a decision is announced, anything can happen.

If Pierce is hired to the Raiders’ next head coach, one of the first major decisions he will make will involve the team’s next offensive coordinator.

There haven’t been many names linked to the Raiders for their vacancy at offensive coordinator, but Fox Sports host Colin Cowherd entered a name into the mix on Monday…

“If [Antonio Pierce] gets the job, keep your eye on Kliff Kingsbury as his offensive coordinator. I have a source that told me Kliff Kingsbury is his likely OC if he gets the job,” Cowherd said on the Herd with Colin Cowherd.

Kingsbury was previously the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals and is currently a senior offensive analyst at the University of South California under head coach Lincoln Riley.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of rumors making rounds this time of year. Some are accurate and some are not… but in any case, the Raiders could do a lot worse than Kingsbury as their next offensive coordinator.

  1. Antonio Pierce, Head Coach
    Eric Bieniemy, Offensive Coordinator
    Champ Kelly General Manager
    Same defensive Coordinator.
Eric is one of the best OC’s around. Not sure what is happening in Washington now. But, look how much Kanas City missed him calling plays this year. He would also be a game changer. Instant playoffs with him as OC!!!!!

    1. He didn’t call plays in KC, Reid always has. They don’t miss him, they miss solid tackles and wide receivers. Most overrated OC ever. There’s a reason why he isn’t a head coach

  2. I will take Kliff over anybody else out there including Bienemy. This man has been able to put lots of points on the board no matter where he has worked. Most impressively with the Cards losing they still “lit up” the scoreboard while he was there.
