Report: Vikings’ Murphy the Top CB on the Raiders Free Agent Board

Although free agent tampering has been going on for weeks in the NFL, Monday is the start of the league’s legal tampering period, and it should be an active day for the Raiders.

Because most free agents know by now what they can get on the open market, it’s not a great sign that players like Robert Spillane and Tre’von Moehrig haven’t re-signed in Las Vegas, but there is still a chance they could end up back with the Raiders.

As for outside players the Raiders are expected to target, The Athletic’s Tashan Reed reported over the weekend that Minnesota’s Byron Murphy is the top cornerback on the team’s free agent wish list.

“The top guy on the board at the cornerback right now is Byron Murphy from the Vikings. From what I’ve been told, through team and league sources… and the Raiders should be aggressive in trying to land him on Monday,” Reed said on the Just Win podcast. “I’m sure the Vikings want to bring him back, as well, given how well he played last season.”

There seems to be an expectation that Nate Hobbs is going to find a better contract outside of Las Vegas and the Steelers are a team that is believed to have significant interest in him – or at least that was the case prior to handing a D.K. Metcalf a massive $150 million deal.

The other player Reed said he had “circled” for the Raiders as a potential free agent signing on Monday is Tampa Bay wide receiver Chris Godwin.

“I think those two guys, Byron Murphy and Chris Godwin, are kind of the guys I have circled as potential splash signings, maybe day one free agency signings.”

Las Vegas Raiders Land Geno Smith In Trade!

The Las Vegas Raiders have found their new starting QB in the form of a trade! The Raiders traded a 2025 3rd round pick to the Seattle Seahawks for QB Geno Smith. Plenty of moves still to be made, like will the Raiders still draft a QB in the draft and if so, in what round?

  1. Trayvon is terrible in coverage. Not worth paying him anything. Pola-Mao is far better. And Epps was a huge disappointment.
Hobbs was good but not worth bank.

  2. I like Spillane a lot. But his age makes him a risk at anything above mid level contract for two years.

    1. So Brady, Spytek, and Carroll aka Moe, Larry, and Curly The Three Stooges are sitting back doing nothing while free agents sign elsewhere?

      Great plan, boys.

Any more old, recycled QBs we can sign? Any washed up Seahawaks available?

Moehrig gone, Spillane gone so far and the three stooges are kickin back, probably drinking cold ones, talking bout old times, Carroll talkin bout how he used to love the I formation and how he wants to bring it back, periodically forgetting his thoughts in mid sentence.

Yeah, good times, boys. Way to hit free agency, awesome to have cap space ain’t it?

  3. Lonnie Johnson

WAY TO GO SPYTEK, YOU OBSCENE IMBECILE!!

TAKE YOUR SENILE JOE BIDEN COACH AND YOUR IDIOT SPEECH GIVING NEW OWNER AND JUMP OFF A BRIDGE TOGETHER!

    1. Don’t you have a tongue to swallow? You’re obviously to far gone being so thoroughly conditioned.

  4. So far, an underwhelming start to FA for the Raiders. They are making the same mistake as last year, NO quality OL are being signed. The OL sucked last year and they just don’t see it. Signing a castoff guard just won’t cut it!
