Todd Bowles is one of the hottest head coaching candidates on the market and it seems he knows it.
According NFL’s Ian Rapoport, Bowles plans to be very “choosy” in the process, but may actually prefer an organization like Oakland.
Adding to that information today was ESPN’s Josina Anderson:
A league source told me tonight that the “chemistry factor with the front office” will be key for Todd Bowles during his head coach interview trail this week. I’m told the Cardinals defensive coordinator is open to selecting a team that may need development on either side of the ball “as long as there are some key pieces in place,” the source said. The most important thing is learning what’s the plan and feasibility of adding the necessary talent “to get to the same goal,” the source added.
Last year, Bowles turned down an opportunity to interview with Cleveland, but this year he seems a little more interested in making the rounds – he has interviews set up with New York, Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco, according to Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo. Notably off the list is Oakland who has asked permission to interview Bowles.
So what’s the hold up with the Raiders? Your guess is as good as mine, but if we’ve learned anything about the Raiders coaching search it’s that they prefer us to be in the dark. Which is where we’ll stay until told otherwise.
