Tyree Wilson Speaks, Says He and the Raiders were Trying to Get a Trade Done for a While

Tyree Wilson was traded to the New Orleans Saints over the weekend, and on Monday he talked about the next chapter in his NFL career.

Wilson told members of the New Orleans media that he and the Raiders were “trying to get it done for a while now” and said his new situation with the Saints is one that he’s excited about.

“I wouldn’t say ‘need,’ but I wanted a change of scenery,” Wilson told reporters on April 27.

“I love Vegas, love the people, love the opportunities in Vegas, but I feel like it wasn’t off to the best start, and pretty much there’s always a change in coaches every year and I feel like here in New Orleans, the trend is going upward, and I’m grateful to be here, grateful for the opportunity… You want stability. You want people that value, you want to value people.”

“I feel like this is a place that values me and other guys like me in the room and on the defense. I’m grateful that this opportunity came, and now it’s just time to get to work and make things happen.”

To his credit, Wilson was a respected teammate in Las Vegas and in his three years with the team, his character was never called into question.

Wilson showed flashed at times but never lived up to the no. 7 pick the Raiders drafted him with in 2023.

The Saints declined Wilson’s fifth-year option on his rookie deal, so Wilson is on track to enter free agency at the end of the season.

Wilson will turn 26 next month and should go into the ’26 season as healthy and motivated as he has ever been.

  1. Here we go again. It seems as though every post has some crazy mistakes that a simple proof-read could correct, but apparently this blog cares very little about professionalism and the people investing personal time reading these 5th grade follies.

The following is one of the ongoing miscues:

    “Wilson showed flashed at times
but never lived up to the no. 7 pick
the Raiders drafted him with in 2023.”

I hope people stop reading these just for the lack of respect shown to those of us that love our Raiders. Let me add that since the Raider organization is attempting to steer the ship in more positive direction, a direction that can hopefully return it to the glory years, it would help if every aspect of this organization (everything attached to it) makes the same effort. If this blog cannot take approach seriously then how can we expect to get people to believe in the organization and its future?
