Video Shows Geno Smith Blatantly Ignoring Raider Fans Prior to Sunday’s Game

It’s been a difficult season for Geno Smith in his first year (and presumably last) with the Raiders, but it feels like the veteran quarterback has hit rock bottom in the last few weeks.

Amid calls for the team to bench Smith, he walked off the field on Sunday while flashing the “bird” at Raider fans, and for anyone interested in the story on Geno’s gesture, the fan involved was a guest on Grphk Raider’s podcast on Tuesday.

Geno’s provoked gesture at his own fans has stolen the headlines in the last 48 hours, but another video circulating from Sunday’s game might have been even more disappointing.

This video (below) was taken prior to the game, and shows Smith willfully ignoring fans, including Gorilla Rilla, and high fiving no one he walked by in the front row.

Unprovoked and uninterested, Geno looked away while teammates, including D.J. Glaze, Brock Bowers and Tyler Lockett, acknowledged the fans.

And for anyone wondering if Gorilla Rilla took the snub personally, listen to the words of the song he posted on Instagram.

Raiders Wire on X (formerly Twitter): “Guessing it’s not coincidence the song playing says “Who do you think you are?” #Raiders #GenoSmith pic.twitter.com/n3QuqVnRr1 / X”

Not even considering his off-field antics, the time has come for the Raiders to pull the plug on the Geno Smith experiment.

He hasn’t elevated the team since the Raiders traded for him eight months ago, and it wouldn’t be a surprise after the season to learn that he wasn’t quite the locker room leader many have made him out to be.

Geno entered a difficult situation this year in Las Vegas, but he has proved enough in 11 games to believe he isn’t the solution at quarterback.

Unfortunately, at this stage in the organization’s efforts to return to respectability, if you aren’t part of the solution (especially at the most important position on the field), you may as well be part of the problem.

Enough is enough.

It’s time to move on from Smith and let him show another fan base why they pay him the big bucks.

  1. Never should have picked Smith up in the first place. The man’s had a bad career as a starting qb and we gave him 66+ million guaranteed and a third round pick for a 2-9 record and the team is the laughingstock of the league. Raider Nation deserves much better.

  2. But Darnold had 2 horrible games at the end of last season! Can’t sign him right Brady?!

    Fudge this team
