Raiders Insider Believes Justin Jefferson would be Open to Reuniting with Klint Kubiak

Are the Raiders interested in Justin Jefferson?

The Raiders don’t have a clear no. 1 wide receiver on the roster and unless someone emerges in 2026, the decision makers in Las Vegas are most likely going to take a big swing at adding a wide receiver in the offseason.

Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith is expected to be the first wide receiver taken in the 2027 draft and he would be a perfect fit for what Klint Kubiak is trying to do with the Raiders’ offense. But the Raiders could look to a veteran wide receiver, and Justin Jefferson is a name that could be an option.

It is widely believed that Jefferson is starting to get restless in Minnesota and if the Vikings’ quarterback situation doesn’t improve, there’s a chance Jefferson could seek a trade.

If it ends up that Minnesota is willing to trade Jefferson, Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter thinks the 27-year-old wideout would be open to the idea of rejoining his former offensive coordinator.

Could the Raiders trade for Justin Jefferson?

“I think you wait and let that Justin Jefferson thing pan out a little bit. Nothing’s imminent. I’m not saying anything is imminent. I just know that there’s a potential that he may want to move on and he had his best play with Klint [Kubiak],” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.

“I think and may have reason to believe that he would be amicable if he were to be moved to be reunited… with Klint Kubiak.”

Carpenter has been mentioning the idea of Jefferson potentially being traded for a while, and former Raider great Lincoln Kennedy said earlier this month that Jefferson would be one of the few veteran wide receivers he would like to see the Raiders make a move for.

Jefferson to Las Vegas might be a pipe dream, but it does feel like the plan in the Raiders’ building is to get serious about the wide receiver room after the 2026 season – assuming someone already on the roster doesn’t break out, that is.
