Analyst Says “Little Birds” are Telling Him the Raiders Sat Davante Adams, Preparing to Trade Him

There have been trade rumors stirring around Davante Adams for months and Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano says he stumbled into one of them this week after Adams missed Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury.

Do not be surprised if Davante Adams has already played his last snap with the Raiders,” Fabiano said on Monday.

“I’ve got little birds all over, right?” Fabiano continued. “Some of my little birds out there are suggesting to me that there’s a chance he doesn’t play another down for the Raiders and that he could have played yesterday, but the Raiders are looking to deal him because they think they could get some value for him. They know they’re going nowhere this year, especially with the quarterback situation they have right now.”

Fabiano says the Raiders will have plenty of trade suitors for Adams and believes the Jets will be at the top of the list of teams interested.

“I know there is going to be no shortage of teams that will be looking to try and acquire him, and I’m guessing the no. 1 team on that list is probably the New York Jets,” he continued. “I would not be surprised, especially with the way the Jets are playing, and Garrett Wilson’s not playing like an alpha right now, that Davante Adams ends up with the Jets… If the Raiders get what hey want in a trade for Adams, he’s going to be gone.”

Sports Illustrated on X (formerly Twitter): “Don’t be surprised if Davante Adams has already played his last snap with the Raiders, @Michael_Fabiano says 👀 Listen to the @fantasydirtpod with Fabiano and @lindsay_rhodes on:▶️ Apple: https://t.co/ZcBYNqkULC ▶️ Spotify: https://t.co/8aFZY4KW1M pic.twitter.com/Vfxy0bo4LK / X”

The other interesting detail to this story is that Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce apparently ‘liked’ the video on X.

A “like” on social media can be misleading because it doesn’t necessarily mean the message was literally liked. A better term would be “bookmarked”, and it would appear that Pierce did, in fact, bookmark the video.

Maybe he was just saving it, or maybe he actually agreed with what it said. It’s also possible that he thought it was so ridiculous that he wanted to hold on to it for later.

Pierce apologized on Monday for the “hoopla” he created by calling out players after losing to the Panthers, and this week he may have inadvertently created another round of “hoopla” with his social media musings.

  1. The Raiders are going somewhere,it’s the Jets who aren’t going somewhere based on how Denver abused him.Davante will be traded but not now..It’s 4 games into the season this Wop writer is hilarious and stupid.
Why does this site continue to foster fake news?????????

    Really sad 😭😭😭😭😭

    R

  2. Doesn’t his contract/yearly salary also rise significantly next year? If they can get value for him and unload that contract it would be a win win. It’s a shame what he was promised from our former GM never was delivered. Great player just bad timing from a clueless upper management

  3. AP is not the brightest bulb in the box, that’s for sure.

And don’t trade him to a playoff team like the Jets. Trade him to the loser panthers for a 1st round pick. They need a WR for Dalton.

  4. Boring!! Need to not report anything till there is actually something to report. If it happens so be it, but until then give it a rest already.

  5. Davante doesn’t fit with the Raiders. They shoulda went hard after a QB in the off season instead of bum Minshew like a starting QB n 2 decent receivers instead of trying to rebuild again in a new $2 billion stadium & try win new fans

  6. For starters, what the hell are ‘little birds’? To me it seems like that’s a good way to avert blame when the article turns out to be complete BS! And who thinks that the Jets are super bowl contenders with Adams? What I saw was a 10-9 loss to Denver their last time out. My mother used to say, ‘don’t believe anything you hear and only half the stuff you see’!

  7. I for one am becoming fatigued with the persistently lingering Devante Adams trade speculations. He’s on the wrong side of 30 now for an NFL receiver and he knows that. His contract is no longer so favorable towards him in its remaking term. He wants to play and compete for a “ win now” Super Bowl aspirational contender. So, maybe it’s best for all to seek a trade for him in getting a very able wide out replacement plus a boat load of low round draft picks for 2025 and 2026! I love the Raiders but their probably only going to be a mid range mediocre team for a couple of years. Get it done the right way, everybody move on and up, and put an end to the nagging rumor narratives!

    1. I’m sad but it’s a business and we as raiders nation need 😪 to come to grips with it. If the raiders can get a 1st and 2nd round picks or 1st and 2nd and 3rd that would be great. Either one would works out. Next I see us losing Maxx Crosby and that would be a hard pill to swallow cause that would cost $$$$ teams a number of draft picks for 3 – 5 years of picks cause everyone 🤔 needs pass rushers.

  8. Hey Adams…come on over to the CHIEFS….you never could beat us, so you might as well join us. You’re too good of a receiver to be a Raider. just be happy you’re not a bronco. Lol.

  9. DaVante with Josh Allen or Mahommes now that Rice is done .I have one of those little birdies his names DaVante so they can’t trade him lol
