Bill Belichick Rumored to Have New Team Determined, Headed to the AFC West?

The rumors around Bill Belichick have picked up in recent weeks, and the latest expectation seems to be that this will be his last season with the Patriots.

ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky made an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday and dropped a rumor that could have serious AFC West implications.

Orlovsky told McAfee that he has heard Belichick has already determined where he’s going next year, but stopped short of naming the team connected to Belichick.

JPAFootball on Twitter: “𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗡𝗚: Dan Orlovsky said he’s heard that #Patriots HC Bill Belichick will be the coach/GM for another team next season and that he’s heard the location has already been determined… 👀He says he’s not a reporter though.(🎥: @PatMcAfeeShow) pic.twitter.com/zUuFTcKYM0 / Twitter”

Some have tossed around the idea of the Raiders pursuing Belichick, but it is highly unlikely that the ‘Patriot Way’ will be returning to Las Vegas anytime soon.

Belichick isn’t McDaniels, but he did lose to McDaniels twice in the last calendar year. Raiders owner Mark Davis is looking for every reason to retain Antonio Pierce and there’s a good chance that it’s going to play out that way.

The team that might be in the running for Belichick, though, is the Chargers.

A Hall of Fame voter on Wednesday tweeted that one of his well-placed sources thinks Belichick is headed to the Chargers. Others have connected Belichick to the Chargers, but the Commanders are said to be interested, as well…

From the Raiders standpoint, it’s hard to know where to root for Belichick to land next year.

Everyone seems to agree that the ‘Patriot Way’ doesn’t work without Tom Brady, but the Chargers have a talented roster and could be a serious contender with a competent head coach.

And speaking Brady, we know that he has the ear of Mark Davis…

Could he try to talk Davis into bringing his old coach to Las Vegas?

  1. Not only no but hell nah. Their way tried to poison us once. Let’s not let this happen again

    1. If he doesn’t retire any team, but the Raiders. My gut just tells me that would be a terrible match.

  2. No More Patriot anything for the Raiders. I was against the last experiment before it happened. I hate the Patriots ever since the bogus fumble in the snow. I cant believe that with the damage that Mcdildo did that he will still be allowed to make millions over the next few years from the Raiders.

  3. What could possibly be a worse choice for the team and the Fan Base? Just say no to this washed-up trash.

  4. That makes a lot of sense. Young Uber talented QB, defense with Pro-Bowl talent at each level. All underperforming.
    Lots of marinas nearby.
