Davante Adams hasn’t given the impression that he would like to play with a rookie quarterback next year, but there does seem to be one that he might consider.
Appearing last week on the Two G’s in a Pod podcast, Adams was asked if there are any college quarterbacks that stood out to him this year.
Davante didn’t name Caleb Williams and he didn’t name Drake Maye. But he did mention LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels…
“I’m not great with college football, I don’t know [everything] that’s going on out there, but I did pay a little bit of attention to Jayden Daniels. I know he was a good tough [quarterback] and obviously he won the Heisman, so he’s a great player. That’s somebody that I think could come in and be a decent player. He’s going to have to slide a little bit more than what he was doing this year, because I saw him taking a couple of hits like 1-7 out there and his frame a little smaller than mine. I don’t know how much he can take of that…
I do think [Daniels] will be a good player. You never know, but that’s somebody I’ve seen that look like he can throw. He’s an athlete. He can kind of throw on the run, make plays with his legs and all that. That’s crucial in today’s game. You’ve got too many these dudes like Maxx chasing down the quarterback and if the quarterback can’t move around, it’s gonna be a lot sacks. Having somebody like him would be crucial for our team or for any team…”
For what it’s worth, Daniels already has a connection to the Raiders. He played for Antonio Pierce at Arizona State and has stated that he would like to be drafted by the Raiders.
An idea that Pierce seemed to “like” as well…
As far as veteran quarterbacks are concerned, Adams seems to be intrigued by the idea of playing with Kirk Cousins, who is slated to enter free agency in March.
“I’ll say this. There’s a couple quarterbacks I really like out there,” Adams said. “It depends on what you’re saying, but if you’re talking about a dude that can find somebody, I like Kirk Cousins. I think Kirk Cousins is a really good quarterback. As far as availability, I think Kirk is a good player.”
Maybe something to keep an eye on if Adams is back with the Raiders next year…

Probably cost 3 1st rounders to get in the top 3. Since AP is familiar with Daniels, I’d do it & sign Russ Wilson to a 2 year deal

Yes I’m a Black hole fan and a Die hard Raider, we need that quarterback and besides that we desperately need a wide receiver, why look at a QB if we ain’t got the speed for him to throw to Devante is one guy and he can’t do it alone.
I can’t see Wilson as a Raider. He’s on the downhill side of his career and he is not worth the kind of money he’ll demand. He wasn’t playing well in Seatle before he was traded to Denver and he was ineffective there.
I would go after Cousins if it’s feasible. He’s a much better player than Wilson at this stage in their respective careers.
I’m not up for drafting a rookie QB. We have a young quarterback who has shown some real potential and would be well served by backing up Cousins. Assuming he doesn’t win out the competition for starter next fall.

Caleb Williams is the real deal. also more durable. Daniels is injury prone not built for the pro game just like Bryce Young
I would go after cousins and let them compete whoever wins out he would be good for Aiden either way
