The Raiders aren’t in the Super Bowl, but since Wednesday they have been dominating headlines thanks to a report from Jay Glazer that Maxx Crosby will most likely be traded before the draft.
But is the situation between the Raiders and Crosby really as grim as Glazer made it sound to be?
On Thursday, Glazer was asked by Raiders’ content creator ‘Samoan Raider’ if he was being serious about Crosby and Glazer seemed to take a softer position on the situation.
“Maxx didn’t say it. I was saying it,” Glazer said.
Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers saw Glazer’s most comments, and he came to the same conclusion as many others.
“[Jay Glazer has] a lot of credibility in the game, so he’s not just going to all of a sudden come up with something and throw it against the wall and hope that it sticks… he doesn’t need that. He’s already got the credibility,” Myers said on the Locked on Raiders podcast.
“It’s usually guys that don’t have credibility that go for click bait, right? They just do it because that’s what they want to do and they want to stir something up and they want to get some attention. [Jay] doesn’t need any attention. He gets all the information and he’s really close to Maxx,” Myers continued.
“So I don’t think that he would want to violate anything. But with him coming back and saying, well, that wasn’t Maxx saying, it was me. It almost feels like it was, ‘Hey man, that was something that wasn’t supposed to get out. Like that was a conversation between the two of us. That wasn’t something that was actually meant for Radio Row.'”
Additionally, Myers said the general feeling at Radio Row on Thursday was that Glazer might have been trying to walk back his statement a little.
“This conversation about Maxx being traded didn’t just pop up out of nowhere… there was something there. I’ll be the first to admit that. And we’ll just have to see if this evolves in anything or if it just ends up being, you know, a little bit of a smoldering fire and then someone comes and puts a little water on and it’s out. I mean, it could be that simple,” Myers said.
“But the vibe I got… the vibe I got on Radio Row on Thursday was [that] it was being backtracked just a little bit from the strong take that Jay Glazer and even Dianna Russini, to a certain extent, had on Wednesday to, ‘Yeah, maybe it’s not just quite as strong and maybe Maxx isn’t really standing there at the front of the congregation and saying trade me out of here. I want to go somewhere else.’”

Jim Schwartz left Cleveland and Jeff Stoutland left the Eagles. Raiders need to be all over the both of them. Blank checks for both.
Per PFT, Jim Schwartz is in play to become DC for Raiders.
Stoutland is the best offensive line coach in the NFL. We need to be all over him, too.
On Colin Cowherd, Maxx himself addressed the trade rumor talk. “It’s all noise …” Maxx added he’s in the building everyday, rehabbing, so he can be ready for the coming season, and be the best version of himself. If he’s pissed with the front office, Maxx is not showing it.
“It’s all noise.” Just like a colonoscopy and cystoscopy.
