Maxx Crosby Says “Random People” are Making “Big Statements” about His Future

Are Maxx Crosby and the Raiders headed towards a divorce?

That was the message from Jay Glazer at the Super Bowl’s Radio Row this week and Crosby’s future has been dominating headlines ever since.

Glazer seemed to walk back his statement a little on Thursday and on Friday, Crosby addressed the report himself.

“Now that I’m quiet, I’ve got random people making big statements for me,” Crosby told FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd.

“They’re like, ‘Maxx must’ve told them this.’ For me, I just sit back and laugh because I know my truth and when I go to bed at night, I have a smile on my face because I don’t have to explain nothing to nobody… I’m getting healthy. I’m in the building every single day. I’m in this building from 6 a.m. when it’s dark out, and I’m here until almost 2… That’s all I care about. So all the noise, that’s news to me sometimes.”

While Glazer’s comments might not have been Crosby’s comments, most would agree that there was probably some truth to what he said.

Crosby was frustrated with the Raiders after being shut down by the team for the final two games of the season and Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter said some of that was because of the way the team communicated with him throughout the process.

“I can tell you this. Jay Glazer talked about it yesterday about how angry Maxx was. I can you that is 100 percent accurate and there is a lot of details that if Maxx is traded, I’m going to give you about the process. How he found out, how he responded. There was a lot of anger in the building not just from Maxx,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast.

“There were other people that were very upset and angry at how Maxx found out about the benching. All of it. I didn’t get into it at the time. Just like I didn’t get into a lot… before the preseason game with Davante [Adams],” Carpenter continued. “But if Maxx is moved and I believe it’s a higher chance that he is than he comes back, I will absolutely go into those details. There’s no reason to do it while he’s in the building. That would not be fair to him or all parties involved. But once he’s gone it won’t matter.”

“I think it lends to understanding the disfunction that has been around the Raiders and all of it. I supported the Raiders sitting Maxx. How they did it was terrible and that’s part of the learning curve that this franchise is going through right now.”
