Field Surface Reportedly A Concern For Raiders Third Preseason Game (In Canada)

After a strong showing in Arizona last week, the Raiders might be considering the idea of leaving well enough along.

According to The Athletic’s Vic Tafur, Jon Gruden won’t be playing many starters in the third preseason game and some might not even be making the trip to the Raiders home game in Canada.

This will not be a typical third preseason game, where starters play up to a half as a final dress rehearsal for the regular season,” Tafur wrote in The Athletic on Wednesday. “Apparently, there are also some concerns about the surface at Investors Group Field.

Questionable field conditions?

No, thanks.

Losing offensive guard Gabe Jackson was enough of a loss for one preseason and how much is there to learn about the majority of the first-teamers, anyway?

Furthermore, it would certainly be like Gruden to stick it to the league after making the Raiders travel out of the country for a “home” preseason game. Safe to say we’ve seen the last of Derek Carr in the preseason and Antonio Brown probably won’t make his silver and black debut until the regular season opener – which may have been the plan from the start.
