Since buying in to the Raiders as a minority owner a year ago, Tom Brady has done everything in his power to give the public perception that he isn’t calling shots within the organization – particularly on the personnel side of the building.
That dynamic has been discussed at length, but in the last two weeks, there has been a landslide of reporting on Brady’s heavy involvement in decisions that led to this season’s failure on the field.
At some point, Brady is going to have to take ownership of the role he assumed with the Raiders and NBC Sports host Mike Florio called Brady out this week after the firing of his hand-picked coordinator, Chip Kelly.
“The heat and the pressure and the focus is going to be more and more on Tom Brady,” Florio said on PFT Live.
“Mark Davis is doing whatever [Brady] tells him. And Brady is partially responsible for the current state of the team. He was involved in the hiring of Pete Carroll. He was involved in the hiring of Chip Kelly. He was involved in the decision to make Geno Smith the quarterback.”
But Florio’s strongest comments on the situation brewing in Las Vegas, were aimed directly at Brady.
“That’s the thing, ‘Tom, you want to do this? You want to do this and you’re not going to clone yourself and one’s going to be the Raiders own and the other one’s going to work for FOX? If you’re going to do this and it doesn’t work, you’re getting the blame for it,” Florio said looking into the camera.
“‘You’re getting the blame for it. Nobody else, Tom. You’re getting the blame for it and it’s not working and it’s splashing on to you. So don’t act like [you have] got a bunch of other things to do. [You have] delegated. No, it’s on you if this team continues to stink. You want it? You’re in big boy football now. If your team stinks, Tom, it’s on you.'”
Florio added that he doesn’t think Pete Carroll will be back next year, and if something drastic doesn’t change with the way the team is playing, he is probably right.
The Raiders are already paying Kelly $18 million for his 11 games with the team, and it has been reported that Carroll signed a three-year contract with the team in January.
It is believed that Carroll is making between $7-10 million per year, but the actual figures have not been reported.

Brady was a QB… NOT a Franchise Manager in Any sense of the Word he has made Horrific Errors in Judgement so far… Looks like Mark Davis will Toss at Least $40 – $50 Million + for his Man Crush on Brady. Hope it is Worth it Marko
Yup. And the more we keep Brady the more we will lose
Should’ve offered Ben Johnson twice as $$$. Pete should’ve never been hired nor Chip. Almost every decision since Mark gave Tom a share in the team at a greatly reduced cost the team has failed at.
Give Brady and whoever’s connected with him their money back, fire the head coach and coaches, and Mark sell the team to somebody who knows what he’s doing!
I agree with everyone sell the team
