Marshawn Lynch is reportedly interested in returning to the Raiders, but after re-signing Doug Martin (instead of Lynch) there’s no question the Raiders prefer to stay away from ‘Beast Mode’ in 2019. The team’s disinterest in bringing back Lynch is something you read about here, but the burning question now becomes why Jon Gruden has chosen to move on from Marshawn.
In a Bleacher Report interview last week, former Raiders offensive guard Kelechi Osemele may have offered a little insight into what’s going on with Lynch.
“He kept it too real,” Osemele said of Lynch. “We had the realest conversations on the plane to the point that coaches would come get the rookies… like straight up stuff. I don’t even want to repeat it. I’m not even going to say it. It was about football, but also about life, too, and what’s going on with football.”
Keeping it ‘real’ is one thing, but ‘unrepeatable’ conversations that led to the coaches removing rookies? There has to be something to those stories, especially given what Osemele added about Lynch’s feelings on the direction of the team.
“He saw it early, too,” Osemele said. “He wasn’t disruptive or anything like that, but privately he was basically like ‘hey look, this is the deal.'”
Lynch may not have been ‘disruptive’ in the sense of causing locker room drama, but at a time when Gruden was fighting to gain the confidence of the players, there’s a good chance Lynch’s brand of commentary wasn’t what the coaching staff was looking for.
Whatever the case, there’s no question that Lynch was a better running back than Doug Martin last year. The fact that the Raiders signed Isaiah Crowell and brought back Martin when Crowell was injured is enough evidence to know something about Lynch didn’t sit well with the organization last year. Maybe Osemele spilled some of the beans, but there are still a lot more still in the jar.
Anyone else talking?

It was all the racist anti America crap that was dividing the team . . That’s why they are both gone! Too bad . . They are both stud players. . But you saw them go from 12-4 then straight into the toilet once all that bs started. Cancer had to be removed! Third game of 2017 is when it all started!
Totally agree. Mark Davis probably didnt like him sitting on the bench during the anthem.either. Movin on anyway. Jacobs is gonna make us all forget beastmode quickly. Kid is gonna be a star
Racist? Ha. You’re a clown

Men and women have suffered and died for this country and you sit for the national anthem and stand for Mexico’s. This disrespect is unforgivable. Go visit the VA and explain it to them and see their response.
The problem wasn’t lynch or Osemele it was Gruden , Destroying what Del Rio built , the culture was working and winning , traveling better playing better , the problem with Defense is Guenther, the problem with team is its what gruden wants not what team needs , and Davis having his wet dream of gruden being coach , hello 0-16 get used to it . Lynch wasn’t the problem he was the solution .
