Henry Ruggs III Says Raiders Among 3 Teams “Constantly” in Contact With Him

The Raiders will be adding a wide receiver in the draft and the consensus seems to be that Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, and Henry Ruggs III are the top candidates to be selected by Jon Gruden if he uses pick 12 to take a wideout.

We’ve heard the rumors in the past week that the Raiders are favoring Lamb and Jeudy, but on Tuesday the Ruggs hype picked up speed and the source of the information was Ruggs himself.

Ruggs said Tuesday on the ProFootballTalk Podcast that the Raiders, Broncos, and 49ers have been “constantly” contacting him. The 49ers draft right behind the Raiders (pick 13) and the Broncos (pick 15) are two picks after the 49ers. So barring a trade the Raiders would have the first shot at Ruggs among the teams that have been in contact with him the most.

Without a doubt, the Raiders have muddied the waters when it comes to which receiver they like the most. And with so many reports about their interest in the top receivers it’s hard to imagine the Raiders won’t be drafting one of them.

The question is… which one will it be?

  1. Ruggs has got the speed, no doubt, but I believe Lamb is the best overall receiver in this year’s class and is the best at yards after the catch, a great attribute to have. I just hope he’s available at #12.

  2. Wide Receivers – Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor, Tyrell Williams and Keelan Doss, Marcell Ateman vs Tyreek Hill, Sammy Watkins, Mecole Hardman, Felton Davis DeMarcus Robinson and Jody Fortson would be a wash.

Tight Ends – Darren Waller, Derek Carrier, Luke Wilson, Paul Butler, Nick O’Leary, Foster Moreau and Jason Witten vs Travis Kelce, Nick Keizer, Rick Seals-Jones, Deon Yelder equals a wash.

Offensive Line – The Raiders offensive line vs Kansas City’s offensive line equals Advantage Raiders.
Derek Carr and Marcus Mariotta vs Patrick Mahomes is maybe a wash.

Runningbacks – Josh Jacobs, Jalen Richard, William Stanback, Rod Smith Marcus Thompson and Alec Ingold vs Damien Williams, Darwin Thompson, Anthony Sherman, Darrel Williams, DeAndre Washington, Mike Weber and Elijah McGuire equals a wash.

In many respects, the gap could be significantly closing between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs. If the Raiders should draft Henry Ruggs, then Tyreek Hill’s reign as the fastest man in the NFL could be coming to and end. Further, should the Raiders add Keith Murray then the Raiders would not only become younger but also more lethal on defense. I would find it hard to believe that ANY Raiders fan or sportswriter would not consider those two additions as A+ draft picks for the Raiders.

  3. We will take Ruggs or Juedy that’s it one of them two will fit the raiders and the 19th pick on a cornerback that can lock you up and in the 3rd and 4th rounds we should be able to get a good linebacker or two

  4. The way I see it the Raiders have no choice but to draft Ruggs. I’m sure if you are a Raider fan you know that the Chief’s Tyreke Hill is a straight up game changer. Well, the Raiders need to fight fire with fire 🔥 and draft their own game changer. A player like Hill who can also explode, accelerate, and disappear into the end zone. I’m glad we finally have a GM who knows how to operate

  5. Ruggs ,lamb , or jeudy , let’s get one of those guys, allow tyrell to go back to number 2 wr
