Prior to Trey Hendrickson agreeing to a new contract in Cincinnati, the Raiders were reportedly interested in the Bengals All-Pro pass rusher, and according to Denver host Benjamin Allbright on X, the Raiders have also reached out to the Cowboys about Micah Parsons.
“Dallas has had calls from several teams that include Green Bay and Las Vegas,” Allbright posted on Tuesday. “But [the Cowboys] have not had discussions with anyone and they have not given Parsons permission to seek a trade or work out a contract with anyone.”
Just as it was with Hendrickson last week, the real news to the Raiders’ reported interest in Parsons is the idea that they are interested in adding a $30 million pass rusher.
Odds were never in favor of Hendrickson (or Parsons) ending up in Las Vegas, but it seems like GM John Spytek is open to the idea of paying another elite pass rusher.
Maxx Crosby is under contract until 2029, but Malcolm Koonce is on a one-year deal and could be the subject of an offseason bidding war if he performs in 2025 the way he did at the end of the 2023 season.
On paper, there isn’t a huge need for another EDGE rusher in Las Vegas, but Spytek has been sniffing around some premier pass rushers in recent weeks, and it makes sense considering the quarterback talent the Raiders are going to face in AFC West this year.
As for the situation in Dallas, it seems like contract negations between Parsons and the Cowboys have gotten personal and without a new deal, there’s a good chance he’s going to end up with a “hamstring injury” like what Davante Adams dealt with a year ago.
In fact, Parsons is already looking to get a second opinion on a back injury that apparently flared up in recent weeks.
