If Reports Are Accurate, Raiders Will Open 2020 Season on the Road

Piecing together a couple of reports over the past 24 hours it seems like there is a good chance the Raiders will not be hosting a week one game in their new Las Vegas stadium.

Here’s the thinking behind that. It’s pretty simple actually…

ESPN’s John Clayton reported on Wednesday that he believes the first four weeks of the season will be non-conference opponents for all NFL teams. For the Raiders that means the first four opponents would be Atlanta, New Orleans, Tampa Bay, and Carolina. Two of those games are home games (TB and NO) and a report on Thursday indicated that Tampa Bay and New Orleans play each other in week one.

That leaves only Carolina and Atlanta as week one possibilities for the Raiders and both of those games will be on the road.

With Carolina and Atlanta on the east coast that also means the Raiders probably won’t be the late game on opening Monday night.

Also, it looks like the Raiders will host New Orleans week two…
