The Raiders spent two third-round picks on offensive linemen in last month’s draft and while there’s a lot to be figured out still, the offensive line in Las Vegas could see a familiar face or two end up somewhere other than the desert next year.
Sports Illustrated insider talked about the Raiders offensive line on his podcast this week and he believes a familiar face with 18 starts in his first three seasons could be the odd man out by the start of the 2025 season.
“I think that if the Raiders keep three offensive tackles on their 53-man roster, which is what they did last year, I think Thayer [Munford] may be the odd guy looking out,” Carpenter said on the Las Vegas Raiders Insider podcast. “He does have trade value, for sure. But if they keep [fewer] interior guys, maybe they keep four tackles. I think that’s an option too.”
“[D.J. Glaze] is their starting right tackle if the season started today. Kolton [Miller] is the starting left tackle, and Charles Grant is going to make the 53-man roster. So if they keep four tackles, I think Thayer has a chance… I think he’s the odd man out as of today. Not rooting against Thayer. You know, I like him a lot.”
Presumably, the offensive linemen that are locks to make the Raiders’ final roster are Kolton Miller, Dylan Parham, Caleb Rogers, Jackson Powers-Johnson, D.J. Glaze, Charles Grant and Jordan Meredith.
Alex Cappa had a rough 2024 season but has a history with Raiders’ GM John Spytek.
As for Munford, he fits the description of a solid NFL swing tackle, but depending on how the offseason plays out with a few of the younger players, he might become expendable in the eyes of the new decision makers in Las Vegas – particularly considering he’s entering the final year of his rookie deal.
Looking strictly at his Pro Football Focus grades, Munford had the worst season of his career in 2024, but it’s worth noting that the entire offensive line regressed under former offensive coordinator Luke Getsy.

Munford has the advantage of having experience at both OT spots and played G at Ohio State some.. Granted he could get traded or cut just due to the numbers, but IMO Parham isn’t a lock.. He’s in the last year of his rookie deal.. Yes, he can play at 3 spots but Meredith can also..Parham gets manhandled too much and is listed at 285… Spytek didn’t have any sub 300 pounders in TB that I can recall.. Most were huge..
Parham was another waste of a pick from the Patriot West regime. They were worse than Reggie McKenzie & he was bad.
Of course Hondo does what he does best & just talks out of his behind.
