Insider Shares What Tom Brady Has Been Telling People About Shedeur Sanders over the Last 18 Months

The Raiders have the no. 6 pick in the upcomimg draft and the player they’ve been most frequently connected to in recent months is Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Many believe the Raiders will take Sanders in the draft if they get the opportunity and the presence of minority owner Tom Brady is a big reason for that sentiment.

According to Yahoo Sports insider Charles Robinson, Brady hasn’t been shy about sharing his feelings on Sanders and Robinson detailed what he is hearing about those conversations in a report this week.

“From what I’ve been told about Brady’s opinion of Sanders — which he has shared with a handful of NFL coaches and executives over the past 18 months — there is a great amount of respect for Sanders’ focus on preparation, his ability to learn and adapt, his accuracy and determination in the pocket, and his toughness to take hits and still be resilient,” Robinson reported this week.

“I’ve been told that Brady has also been impressed that Sanders has avoided the pitfalls of being thrust onto the center stage of college football’s limelight after transferring to Colorado to play for his father, Deion,” Robinson continued. “For the most part, Shedeur has never become a distraction, developed selfish tendencies or created issues with his public profile or fame that overshadowed his team or his game. He also stayed in school for four years and developed, which is something Brady has repeatedly and publicly said he values in a young quarterback.”

For what it’s worth, Brady might be a fan of Sanders, but the scouting community has hardly reached a consensus on the 2025 quarterback class.

Some believe Sanders would have been no higher than the sixth quarterback taken in last year’s draft and NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero said the evaluations on Sanders in this year’s draft are all over the board.

“Shedeur Sanders, for a variety of reasons, is going to be a really fascinating overall evaluation. I’ve already talked to people within the league who don’t have anything close to a first-round grade on the guy,” Pelissero said last week.

“He certainly has fans. He certainly comes in with high profile, but this idea that he [will] walk in… and be the number one pick, that’s probably pushing it.”

Raiders owner Mark Davis has acknowledged that Brady will be involved in the team’s draft process, particularly as it involves the quarterbacks, and it will be interesting to see how much weight Brady will carry in the draft room.

Brady was the greatest to ever play the quarterback position, but can he evaluate and draft the position at a similar level?

The Raiders and their fan base definitely hope so.

  1. Hey Tom, instead of trying to cram Shedeur down everyone’s throats, how about using your connections to help build a coaching staff. A competent staff would be far better for the team than an overrated QB.

    1. Sanders is straight garbage. He may prepare and study, but it sure the F doesn’t translate to the field.

    2. The RAIDERS have bigger problems with coaching being the major issue!
As a Raider fan for 60 years here is my take….rehire John Gruden immediately. John is a winner, he won the game with brady but got screwed by referees. JUST DO IT👍🏼😉

    3. Shaduer Sanders is a great quarterback! He will have success in the NFL…….

  2. I think a lot of the anti-Sanders (and anti-Ward) talk is a lot of draftniks trying to make themselves look smart. They know the majority of drafted QBs don’t become stars. They also know that QB is the most important position in football, and QBs generally go higher than a straight big board might suggest they should. You know who else knows this? NFL front offices! But you need to take those shots at QB because it’s almost impossible to find them as free agents or trade targets.

And I don’t buy for a second that Sanders or Ward wouldn’t be 1st round picks in a normal draft. Both have all the tools and both produced at elite levels in college, and have plenty of experience. They’re very good prospects and I’d be happy if the Raiders landed either one.

  3. The raiders have undergone numerous changes with GM’s Coaches and failed drafts with terrible results. The only constant among all these changes. Mark Davis. The problem is out there in open sight. Till that changes nothing is going to change with the Raiders

  4. Scrap Sanders! Raiders need to fill a lot of holes. Pick a WR, then RB. Snatch Jackson Dart in the 3rd round. Money!!!!!

  5. Jalen Milroe will be available at 6. Take him! Can’t teach 4.3 speed in a dual threat qb. Get a bridge veteran qb for a 2 year deal hopefully not from the Mississippi swamps. Sorry Minshew. Roll with that. Get a big tough running back 6’2. 235-250 lbs. A real pounder. Go get a quality 1 wide receiver in free agency. Go get Micah parsons pay him. Extend contracts to Spillane and Koonce.

  6. MAN PEOPLE ARE CRAZY IF YOU DON’T THINK SANDERS IS WORTH THE 1 PICK. AND YOU DON’T KNOW FOOTBALL YOU CAN PRESSURE THIS KID AND HE CAN STILL MAKE THE RIGHT READ. THIS KID HAS BEEN KNOCKED DOWN HIT LATE AND STILL GETS UP. AND THE LAST THING HE’S COOL 😎 AS A FAN NEVER GETS TO HIGH AND NEVER GET TO LOW .

  7. A little different take my concerned with the NFL including the raiders How do you give a coach only one year.

  8. Jamarcus Russell is available. Mel Kiper had him as a no miss #1 pick. Just WHEN Baby????
