Gareon Conley has returned to the #Raiders injury report and unfortunately it’s on account of his previously injured shin.
Given what is known about the injury and the approach the doctors have taken with his rehab, it’s probably a safe assumption that Conley has been recovering from a stress fracture.
If that’s the case, a setback similar to what Bears wide receiver Kevin White experienced a year ago (that essentially ended his season) is always a possibility.
That said, it isn’t uncommon to deal with pain when returning from a stress fracture and the pain can even mimic the initial injury.
Psychologically, stress fractures can be one of the most difficult injuries to return from and that’s been consistent with reports out of Oakland – Conley has been having trouble gaining confidence in his leg.
Certainly it’s not great news that he’s back on the injury report, but if Conley is still dealing with discomfort, it doesn’t necessarily mean he’s dealing with a serious setback.
Or at least we can hope.
