He said it all the way back in 2013 and Jon Gruden has made a lot of crazy comments over the years, but one he made to Landry Jones at his yearly QB camp is particularly interesting today.
“If I ever come back and coach, I’m never huddling again.”
Gruden is coaching again, but does anyone remember this? pic.twitter.com/skHBMXWSbX

Gruden, of course, will huddle again but it will be at least interesting to see how enamoured he still is with running tempo and no-huddle offenses.
It’s worth noting that Gruden’s comments to Landry came around the time everyone in the league was watching to see what would come of Chip Kelly’s breakneck-paced offense.
Speed and tempo was something the Raiders pointed to using more this season, but for some reason it never happened.
At the very least, maybe under Gruden the Raiders can move away from being one of the slowest, most boring offenses in the league.
That’s not too much to ask, is it?
