Josh Jacobs Said Raiders Leaked to Specific Reporter During the McDaniels Era

The Josh Jacobs era in Las Vegas came to an awkward end following the 2023 season, and the former NFL rushing king shared a story on Tuesday about an awkward interaction he had with one of the team’s employees about a year before he bolted for Green Bay.

On this week’s Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Jacobs talked about a member of the media he and others believed was consistently getting information from directly inside the organization.

Jacobs said when stories would come from this particular reporter, he knew the information was being leaked by the team.

And according to Jacobs, on one occasion a Raiders staffer even tried to have a conversation with him while that reporter was listening on the phone…

“What’s crazy is, when they were trying to get me to come sign [my fifth year option], before I came to sign, me and Maxx [Crosby] were on the phone. Maxx was just trying to make it work. Like, ‘Man, just come sign.’ So we come up there and we got like an hour left before we got to sign the paper. And me and Maxx were in the car.

Dude comes up to my car and he’s talking to us and he’s moving his phone around. He’s on the phone with an interviewer. Literally on the phone with a reporter while he’s talking to me.

Bro, so anytime I know there’s one reporter over there, anytime he had anything to say, and people would be like, ‘Where are people getting this information from?’ I’m like, ‘It’s coming from them.’

Jacobs never said who the reporter was, but there’s one guess that would make a lot of sense – particularly considering the weird phone situation went down during the McDaniels era.
